The Benefits of Fujitsu EDRMaaS Reduced operating costs: Because SharePoint is a platform, rather than an application, it can incorporate a number of applications (e.g. search, file sharing, collaborative working, document management). Many of these elements are historically managed by legacy applications across the organisation. SharePoint enables legacy apps to be replaced and infrastructure, support and software maintenance costs to fall. Effective EDRM: Migrating to a cloud as-a-service solution allows this offer to be included as part of CloudStore (aka G-Cloud) as a strategic solution for government. In fact, many large Government organisations about to upgrade their document or records management systems are realising that there are cheaper options now available to them through cloud services i.e. as-a-service business models. Furthermore, the integral data cleansing and migration processes, enable data holdings to be reduced typically by 50%, significantly reducing storage and data management costs further. Pay as you Go: In addition, there is no lock-in. You buy the service when you need it and stop paying for it when you do not. Fujitsu EDRMaaS – what is it?This offer describes Electronic Document and Record Management (EDRM) services which are built on the Microsoft SharePoint platform and based on a utility-based pricing model i.e. as-a-service - only paying for what you use. Incorporating data management innovation tools from SME partner, Automated Intelligence, Fujitsu EDRMaaS is the only G-Cloud solution of its kind available at IL3 (Restricted) level and is accredited for use by government organisations.

This is important as there are concerns around data security – hence, the provision of IL3 security. In addition, there are issues around where data resides. If it is kept in a data centre outside the UK and Northern Ireland then it can be considered the property of the government of that country. Fujitsu EDRMaaS seeks to resolve both issues of security and residency for government customers.

The Benefits of Fujitsu EDRMaaSReduced operating costs: Because SharePoint is a platform, rather than an application, it can incorporate a number of applications (e.g. search, file sharing, collaborative working,

document management).

Fujitsu can provide support through a range of professional services – including SharePoint configuration, data migration and consolidation and consultancy – with support on cloud consulting solutions. We are treating the government as one customer, so the more government departments that join, the cheaper the service.
