Note: Values in brackets are estimated hull girder strain range based on average results at upper deck, average of Pos. 29 and 30.

Conclusion:

• Little DB bending. Except for margin girder all longitudinal strain ranges (typical strain range will be 4-5 timed the standard deviation) are well below the estimated hull girder strain range based on measurements at upper deck. Please also note that the strain ranges at DB floor is very low.

• The difference between P and S margin girder indicate that it is some warping effect present. • From these measurements it might be considered to reduce the dynamic loads from dry bulk

cargo, e.g. use the 50% reduction factor not only for fatigue as adopted by CSR-H but also for the 10-8 dynamic loads used in the yield and buckling assessment, e.g. local strength, prescriptive requirements and FE assessment.
