The scholarship program was created to give children the opportunity to participate in museum art classes, regardless of financial circumstances. Each year, 10% of students enrolled in museum art classes are a part of the scholarship program.

Scholarships will be awarded to qualified students for the winter, spring, summer and fall class sessions. A limited number of full scholarships are available each session. Qualified applicants who are not enrolled in a session will be given priority for future sessions.

Scholarship applications for students who meet the criteria of the program will be kept on file for up to one year. All students should submit a new application annually.

Please take a moment to review the scholarship criteria process to apply. If you have questions you may call 816.751.1349 or e-mail [email protected].

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA• Scholarships are awarded to students on the basis of financial need and desire to participate, rather than artistic ability. Financial need must be demonstrated as indicated on the scholarship application.

• Scholarships are limited and will be awarded to eligible students on the basis of space availability.

• Scholarship applications will be kept on file for up to one year. All new and returning scholarship students should submit a new scholarship application annually. To be considered for a scholarship, students must be recommended by a sponsor. Sponsors will be contacted when considering the application.

• A family member may not sponsor a student. A sponsor is someone who thinks the student would benefit from participation in classes and has awareness of the family’s financial status. A sponsor may be a teacher, counselor, religious leader, youth worker, community professional or social worker.

NOTE: The sponsor is not responsible for any fees or costs associated with the program.
