Connectivity to Non-Equinix Fabric Customers

My name is Edward Nehamkin, Senior Associate Product Manager for Network Edge and in this video, I’m going to demo how Network Edge users can request connections to an Equinix colocation customer that is currently not on Equinix Fabric.

First, log into the Equinix Fabric Portal.

Hover over Connections and click Create Connection to get started.

From here, select connect to Another Equinix Customer

This will prompt you with the option to invite another Equinix customer to connect via the Equinix Fabric portal.

Click Create Invitation to begin the process.

From here, select Virtual Device, choose a location, and pick your desired virtual device type, and enter the recipient’s email.

Next, confirm authorization, select a location, and select a connection speed.

Lastly, enter the connection information, interface selection, and purchase order number.

As a final step, review your configuration details and draft an optional personalized message for the invitation recipient which will be included in the invitation email. Once the invitation is sent, you will receive notifications about the destination side’s progress and will be billed after the connection is accepted and provisioned.
