ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR Dr. Supriyono received his undergraduate degree in Geophysics from ITB; master degree in Reservoir Geophysics from

University of Indonesia and received PhD degree with honour in Geophysics from ITB. He started his professional career

in 1987 as processing geophysicist at Geophysical Services Inc. in Jakarta office for two years. During this period various

2D seismic processing projects was done for land and marine data. Supriyono joint ARCO in 1989 continue developing the

expertise in seismic processing, analysis, modeling and seismic acquisition. In 2000, British Petroleum acquired ARCO

and AMOCO. Now become BP.

Supriyono has published several papers as author and co-author for national as well as international such as HAGI, IPA,

SEG and most recently AAPG convention in Singapore. As part of research project during PhD program, he proposed and

developed a new method for Direct Hydrocarbon Indicator (DHI) by analyzing velocity characteristics or behavior in the CMP gather. This

new method called VVO (Velocity Versus Offset). One paper was published in First-Break (EAGE, 2012) describing a case study

ofapplication VVO delineating gas accumulation in low impedance sand reservoir.Another paper of VVO method will also be published in

ITB-Journal, an international scientific journal managed by ITB. Supriyono has spent more than 25 years working on various seismic

projects and some of gravity works. He is now a Deputy Seismic Delivery Manger for BP Asia Pacific Region.

Dr. Awali Priyono received his degree in Geophysics from Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) in 1980 then he works

as a lecturer there. In the year 1988 he got his Doctor rerum naturalis in Geophysics from Kiel University – West

Germany. On his return, he was deeply involved in seismic acquisition, processing, imaging and GGRstudy with several

oil companies until today. Presently, he is as a Professor in Exploration Seismology at the Geophysical Engineering Study

Program, Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering, ITB.
