SENSORY GYMS

SENSORY INTEGRATION ROOMS
A Sensory Gym or Sensory Integration Room provides
children with a variety of therapeutic sensory activities in a
safe place. They are typically large rooms with soft-play,
gross and fine motor equipment, including swings, climbers,
ramps, tunnels, balls, ball pits, crash pads, and other
movement apparatus with which children can move, explore
and receive the sensory input they seek, in a fun and
secure way. When guided by professionals trained in
sensory integrative therapy, Sensory Gyms enable children
to process the world around them – helping them regulate
their behavior and improve their ability to learn.
