AIMS OF THE PROJECT

Nevertheless the actual Government is trying to make changes in the

education area; its efforts are not enough to cover all the needs in the

schools around the country. This is the reason why Foundation Proyecto

Ecológico Chiriboga decided to support the education sending young

volunteers from several countries that come through Volunteer

Organizations to teach English, Computers and Environment lessons, in

school of rural areas, where the Ecuadorian Government cannot

access, giving the opportunity to the children with low resources to

ameliorate their academic level. These intercultural exchanges let the volunteers, students and the local

inhabitants to learn one of the other, giving them unique experiences of life. This project is offered in 14 provinces of Ecuador in the regions of

the Coast, Highlands and Amazon.

PROJECT’S ACTIVITIES

All schools belong to the goverment, who give support an education

to the children in urban and rural areas.

COMMUNITY CONTEXT

Ecuador is one of the mega diverse countries of the world, is the

smallest one of South – America, thanks of its localization it has 4

regions, the Coast, the Highlands, the Amazon and the Galapagos

Islands, a variety of climates and natural resources have this

wonderful country, who has the 2 highest active volcanoes in the

world, it is the head of the Amazon Basin, the first producer of the

world of bananas, flowers, shrimps, other products like cacao,

mangos, maracuya, pepper, brocoli, bamboo, etc.

HOST SITUATION

Volunteers will be placed in host families. Further information will be

given, once the application is received.

HOW TO ARRIVE Fundación Proyecto Ecologico Chiriboga has its office and its shelter

in Quito in the beginig of the south of the capital city, to get to our

office from the airport is possible to come by bus or by taxi.

The cost of the taxi is 30 dollars until 22:00pm and 35 dollars aftyer

this time.

The cost of the bus is 2.50 dollars and is possible to take this bus from

07:00am to 19:00pm before or after this time is not possible to take

this kind of transportation, the route is AIRPORT- TERMINAL

QUITUMBE when the volunteer arrives to the Terminal Quitumbe,

and if you have more than a back pack, is necessary to take a taxi to

To Provide psychoeducational care and rehabilitative develop the potential

of the child and / or adolescent with Psicho- Motriz Disabilities, of school

way , maintenance or outpatient basis, considering the level of performance

of the student to achieve interact and participate in social media with the

highest degree of independence, for sensory-motor development so that

skills acquired self-independence personal, social and labor.


GENERAL ACTIVITIES

- To provide a comprehensive educational process for children with

motor disabilities to facilitate the acquisition of skills and their

integration into society.

- To operationalize the institutional functioning on the basis of legal

standards, mission and goals.




SPECIFIC:

- To provide education to children with motor disabilities potentiate

their skills that allow them to interact socially with maximum

independence.

- To promote the integration of Parents to the education of their

PROTECTION AND EDUCATION OF THE CHILDREN

AIMS OF THE PROJECT

The project was founded in 1977 in response to the reality that existed

at that time with the problem of street children. The proposal is

centered care children, adolescents and young workers in the street

and risk in particular situations found in the street a place to live and

survive.

On the streets the children and adolescents have to live with a harsh

reality that often pushes them to fall in unlawful conduct or situations

that threaten their dignity and life. It is in response to this social

phenomenon that the Project decides to get involved with an

educational proposal that aims to meet the basic needs of health,

nutrition, education and protection to children to improve their quality

of life.


In Ecuador; in Quito, Ambato, Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas and

in Esmeraldas, this project benefits low income children who work in

the streets, and children and adolescents whose parents cannot give

The project helps children providing a safe place where the children

can do homework, watch TV, play table soccer, and to have lunch.

Children and adolescents in age of risk are assisted by the staff of the

program and volunteers; they are also assisted by a psychologist

provided by the program.

Located in Cuenca, this wonderful project benefits low income

children and teenagers whose parents cannot give them total attention

in their homes.

The project provides preventive social and educational services to

children and young workers at risk, whose families are working

around the market Cuenca, through comprehensive education and

mediation aimed at preserving family integration, school continuity

and the formation of builders subject their future.


This project helps children ages 5 to 16 years old by providing a safe

place where the children can eat lunch, do homework, watch TV,

recreation and sports, computer lessons and manual art work and

many more activities.

The volunteers can work on this project a minimum of 6 months from



10:00am to 16:00pm.

PROTECTION, EDUCATION AND ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS

AIMS OF THE PROJECT

Natural-Forest Reserve Protector La Perla is a remnant of 250 acres of

private rainforest, protected by the Ecuadorian State. It is located on

Highway E20- at Km 135, Canton La Concordia, province of Santo

Domingo de los Tsáchilas, and west of Ecuador. The height at the site is 250

m, the average daytime temperature of 24 degrees and relative humidity is

80%. The rainiest months are January, February, March and April, the

sunniest months are September, October and November. Work in the

reserve is linked to many areas:


TOURISM: It involves learning to identify species of wildlife and its most

attractive attributes. Proposals and implementation of recreational activities

that encourage the protection and care of the forest.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION: One of the areas of greatest interest to

the reserve is education and dissemination of knowledge of the fragility and

importance of our ecosystem (Working with school children and youth in

the schools).




RESEARCH: Often research projects flora and fauna are presented by

domestic and foreign universities, where volunteers can form part of the

support team.

WILDLIFE INTERVENED: This year we will begin with the construction

of a rescue center for wildlife, as current facilities are very basic and small

for the amount of wildlife that receives the reservation. The maternity area

will be main focus for volunteers who have an affinity to the city and

breeding fauna.

Santo Domingo de los Colorados the capital city of the Province of

santo domingo de los Tsachilas, is a big city, with all public services
