imbibing a scientific temperament amongst the students.Around 179 models formed
from 811 students displayed their models in the exhibition. These budding engineers
came up with innovative mini models on various topics.30 models were selected as best
models.
The various models were divided into four major categories viz. Electronics,
Mechanical, Electrical and Electrical-Electronics.The various themes on which the
mini level working models were based on were prototypes of technologies such as
Mechatronics, Automobiles, Transducers &Energy Conversion, Energy Generation,
Security Systems, traffic control systems, Sensors, and Mechanical models.

Science day commemorated with National Conference “NCARTS-14” at GHRCE,
Nagpur
The two days interdisciplinary Second National Conference on Advanced Research
Trends in Sciences (NCARTS-14) was organized on National Science day i.e 28th
February by the First Year Engineering Department of GHRCE. The conference was
inaugurated by Chief Guest, Dr. Nitin Labhsetwar Scientist-F, Environmental Materials
Division, NEERI, Nagpur. He in his keynote reiterated that there is immense potential
in Research & Development in India as we have maximum intake of students in the
world in the field of Science & Engineering. He said that 90% conventional technology
fails in the first six months after implementation and hence we are for a lookout for
sustainable technology.Dr. Labhshetwar emphasized that nanotechnology is the buzz
word today and is the only solution for most of the environmental problems. This
technology is self sustainable and can be customized to be user friendly, as the main
hurdle after invention lies in making people use the technology. He encouraged
researchers to take up interdisciplinary and collaborative research which has practical
relevance. He further added that attempt is most important and one should have a sound
knowledge of fundaments of the subject.
