Short Term Training Program at

MCA Department ,GHRCE,Nagpur

The department of MCA was organized a STTP on

Role of Computer Science and Its Applications in

Smart City Development’ from 26th to 31st

December 2016.

The workshop was inaugurated on date 26th

Dec 2016 at 10.00 am in G-04,in GHRCE Campus.

The dignitaries’ presents Mr. Vedprakash F. Balriya,

Team Lead, TATA Elxsi Pvt.Ltd Dr.S.S.Dorle,

Training Coordinator ,Prof. A. Gahankari,HOD,and

Mr. Gopal Sakarkar (STTP Organizer) on this

occasion.

After inauguration, technical lectures and practical

session on various cloud computing apps for smart

city development were carried out in Lab C-21.

Department of Civil Engineering of

G. H. R. C. E., Nagpur organized a Guest

Lecture on „Different Software in Civil

Engg.‟

A guest lecture on various software systems in the

field of civil engineering was conducted on 15 Dec

2016 for Sixth Semester (Sect.-B) by Mr. Prabhat

Bhatt, Academic Relations Manager from Bentley

Institute of Academic Services. Mr. Bhatt gave

information related to the types of software which

include the designing of structure in the field of

water, building performance, platform development

etc. Water and sewage related softwares were

discussed such a Water GEMS, Hammer, Sewer

GEMS, Storm CAD, Civil Storm etc. Building

related software AECosim Building Designer was

discussed. Many other softwares were discussed

such as Lumenrt, BIM (Building information

modeling), Bentley Navigator etc. At the end, the

information were given about the Bentley Portal and

procedure to download the software and how to use

it for designing purpose. The guest lecture is co-

ordinated by Prof. S. S. Sanghai and Prof. A. R.

Kahalkar from Civil Engineering. Department.

Civil Engineering Department of G.H .Raisoni

College of Engineering, Nagpur had organized

Expert Lecture on the topic “Opportunities and

Challenges after Graduation in Civil Engineering”

on 16th Dec. 2016. The guest speaker was the

Alumni of Civil Engineering Department from

2011-12 batch Mr. Kaustubh Tiwari, Senior

Engineer, WAPCOS (Water and Power Consultancy

Services) Bhopal. Mr. Kaustubh Tiwari covered all

Higher Education scope. His valuable experience in

the particular Water Resource Engineering subject

was very helpful to understand this subject to the

project and Industry.

3 Day Workshop on MS OFFICE for Non

Teaching Staff of GHRCE, Nagpur

Non Teaching Staff (First Year & Library)

has attended 3 Days workshop on MS Office

conducted in G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering

from 28th Dec 2016 to 30th Dec 2016 in lab C-03.

In this workshop Non teaching staff learned the

basics of MS Word, Excel and Power Point.

In 3 days workshop the Ms Word was

delivered by Prof. Prajakta Kanse, in this she

explained the basics of word for Creating, Opening,

Sharing and Saving of Documents, Shortcut Keys,

Text Basics, Formatting Text, use of Find and

Replace, use of various tabs, line and paragraph

spacing, hyperlinks, Page Layout, Printing

Documents, Watermarking, Columns, Headers &

Footers, Page Numbering, Shapes, Text Boxes,

Alignment, Tables, Charts, Graphs, Checking

Spelling & Grammar, Templates, Article Writing.

. The MS Excel was delivered by Prof. Nikhil

Raipure .Contents was Introduction to excel and its

basics, Application of Excel in academic, Use of

commands and tabs, rows and

column,Merging,Wrap command, Font and color

formatting of data, Size alignment, Use of simple

formulas, Inserting and hiding rows and columns,

How to add comments in cells, Paste special

command, sort and filter command, Tables, charts,

graphs, table formatting, border, charts, exploring

charts and tables to word file or ppt.

Prof. Shubhangi Moon had explained the use of

The MS PowerPoint. She started with Basic

introduction and major elements of PowerPoint

presentation, Basic tags, Drawing tools, Text

formatting, Inserting and refining graphics,cliparts,

Audios and videos insertion in presentation,

Animations in presentation ,Hyperlinks Time setting

for animations, Different Layouts,Wordarts,Printing

of presentations in different format, One column

format, Two column format,Ghraps and chart

representation with different values, Encryption of

presentation,Notes,Hangouts,Different shortcut keys

while presentation.

The Sessions also included with awareness of Cyber

laws & Cyber crime. with this advanced topics are

also covered which includes creation and sharing of

goggle docs, google forms, google excel sheet,

goggle class rooms, Advantages and disadvantages

of the same. The 3 days session was very fruitful to

Non teaching staff as they were more benefited.

Hands on Altera DE2 board and

programming in VHDL under ZENITH

2K16 One day Hands on workshop was organized under

Zenith-2k16-17 for 4th sem. Undergraduate students

of electronics department on 10th Dec. 2016. Basics

of Digital System Design along with the VHDL

programming knowledge was delivered to the

students. Also Hands on DE2 FPGA board were

presented to the students. The programme was

conducted by Prof.Pranav J.Mankar and organized

under electronics department Forum Zenith-2k16.

One day Workshop on EDA Tool Design

for M Tech VLSI One day workshop on EDA tool Design was

conducted for M Tech first semester VLSI students

for the session 2016-17 on 24th October 2016. The

workshop was conducted by Prof A D Tete

alongwith PG students.This workshop was also the

TAE component for the students.The students were

explained the basic working on Software simulation

tools of VLSI Design and its application for their

project work.The students enthusiastically

participated for the event.Prof P.H.Rangaree

coordinated the activity.

Secured 1st Position in AVISHKAR-2016,

Stage-III level on 24th OCT 2016.

was arranged by University for Inter-University

level. From all District level winners total 98

participants were present from different category

DECEMBER 2016 IT Department organized the guest lecture

for 4th

semester students on Network

Security. It was conducted on 10th

December 2016

by Mr. Manoj Rai. Sir is the Director and Technical

Head at Networkz Hub.

Total 40 students were present in the lecture.

The lecture was very interactive. Students actively

participated in the activities taken by him.

Firstly he shared his experience with the

students of his engineering days and motivated to

proceed for entrepreneurship. Then, guided the

students how E-Commerce is ruling the IT Industry

& explained various trends available in the field.

Bibekar, student alumni 2014 Batch, G. H. Raisoni

College of Engineering, Nagpur, currently working

with the Gold CRM Consulting LLC, Pune.

Firstly he provided the history of

Microprocessors and then elaborated the advanced

microprocessor 80386 with architecture and memory

organization. He also shared his experience of 4

years as a student and motivated the students for

extracurricular activities.

GUEST LECTURE FOR 6th SEMESTER

IT STUDENTS ON VEDIC MATHS, 17th

DECEMBER 2016 IT Department organized the guest lecture

for 6th

semester students on Vedic Maths. It was

conducted on 17th

December 2016 by Mr. Manmath

Deshpande. Sir is the Director of Abhyasa Institute.

Total 56 students were present in the lecture.

The lecture was very interactive. Students actively

participated in the activities taken by him and gave

positive feedback.

Management was organized at MCA Department ,

GHRCE, Nagpur from 14-Dec-2016 to 17-Dec-2016

for MCA II yr SEM –III students.

Guest Lecture on Motivation organized by

MCA Department, GHRCE, Nagpur

The department of MCA, GHRCE, Nagpur

organized guest lecture on 20-12-2016 in G-4 for

MCA II and IV semester students. The workshop

was conducted by Ms. Renu Khublani,

Psychological Counselor. The guest was conducted

on “Motivation”.

The Speaker introduced students regarding Personal

resilience skills that will increase their confidence in

their ability to bounce back from the many pressures

and adversities they encounter in today’s workplace.

They were reminded that a key aspect of being

resilient is accepting that change frequently creates

opportunities as well as problems to be solved. The

Speaker emphasize on various dimension of being

wellness such as social, emotional, spiritual,

environmental, occupational, intellectual and

physical wellness. It was a learning and interactive

session for the students where she answered all the

queries put up by the students to their full

satisfaction. The session was coordinated by Prof.

Atiya Khan.

Activity under Cultural & Technical

Program 2016-17 TECHNICAL

TREASURE HUNT COMPETITION-

GHRCE

G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering organized the

event “TECHNICAL TREASURE HUNT

COMPETITION - GHRCE” under Technical

&Cultural Program 2016-17. Students participated

in a group of two.

In TECHNICAL TREASURE HUNT

COMPETITION total 40 students participated from

various departments of our college. The event was

graced by the judge Mr. Sachin Gawate from CSE

Department. This activity is coordinated by

Aniruddha Tarodekar,Shridhar Iyer, Kartik Dubey

from 6th

sem CSE and Computer Science &

Engineering Department as well as SRC Members

were present under the supervision of Prof. K. K.

Jajulwar and Prof. Shubhangi Moon.

Practical Demo by Departmental Faculties

on 28/11/2016 & 29/11/2016

A Practical Demonstration was organized in

Electrical Department on 28th and 29th November

2016. In this event faculties of electrical

engineering demonstrated their respective subject

practical before expert. Prof. Swati Dixit was

assigned as centralized expert and other senior

faculties were departmental experts for this event.

Project Exhibition of final year students

on 1st & 3rd Dec 2016

The project exhibition of 7th Sem Electrical students

was organized on 1st & 3rd Dec 2016 at Electrical

department, GHRCE, Nagpur. In this exhibition, the

experts were Dr. S.G. Tarnekar, Dr. V. K.

Chandrakar, Dr. S. T. Tutakne & Dr. P. M.

Daigavane along with respective project guides.

More than 50 groups appeared for exhibition within

these 2 days & demonstrated their hardware &

software.. The departmental projects coordinator

Prof. J.G. Choudhary, co-coordinators Prof. P.L.

Ramtekkar & Prof. Amit Sharma worked for the

successful completion of project exhibition.

I-Progress Seminar M.Tech (IPS &PED)

Fourth Semester Students

Project seminar was held on 13th dec 2016 of

M.Tech (IPS & PED) –IVSemester students in

Electrical Department. Dr. P.M.Daigavane (HoD,

EE), Dr.S.G.Tarnekar, Dr.V.K.Chandrakar were

present during the Seminar. They have discussed

,evaluated & gave suggestion to the students. Project

Guides & senior faculties of the department were

present for the same and whole activity is

coordinated by PG Coordinators.

Final Project External Seminar

UG 7th Sem EE

The final project seminar of 7th Sem Electrical

students was organized on 12th, 13th, 14th & 17th

Dec 2016 at Electrical Dept, GHRCE, Nagpur. 50

project groups (29 Hardware & 21Software Projects

) appeared for final project seminar. The external

examiners are from various industries. Industrial

experts are Mr. Ravi Lande, Director, Pioneer

Controls, Nagpur, Mr. Mukul Patwardhan, General

Manager, GMR, Raipur, Mr. Anand Zararia, DGM,

ACC, Ltd., Thane. The internal experts are Dr. S.G.

Tarnekar, Dr. V. K. Chandrakar , Dr. D.R. Tutakne

& Dr. P. M. Daigavane (HOD, EE)along with

respective groups project guides. The departmental

Department of Electronics Engineering of

G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur has

organized Guest Lecture on “Career opportunities in

the field of IT/Core” under Departmental Alumni

Activity by Mr. Lav Kumar Pandey, Chennai on

10th December 2016 for under graduate of VIth

SEM (A & B) ETRX students. The talk was started

with Job opportunities after under graduation and

higher studies and thereby explain the Career

opportunities in the field of IT/ Core Industries. He

also focused on the DO’s and DONT’s that has to be

remember during the General Discussion and

Interview. It was enthusiastically attended by UG

students of ETRX with a total head count of 148

students. Prof. N. P. Wyawahare and Prof. Smith K.

Khare was the coordinator for this activity.

Department of Mechanical Engineering

Meeting of Class Representatives of Mechanical

Engineering department was conducted on

4.01.2017 by Head of Department, All CRs of fourth

,sixth and eight semester BE were present for the

meeting ,Various points related to academics, CBCS

scheme, CAE examination etc were discussed in the

meeting.

Industrial Visit by Students of Mechanical

Department

An industrial visit was organized for IV semester,

section C students of Mechanical Engineering

Department on 6/1/2017, from 10:30 AM to 1:30

PM at Miltech Industries Pvt. Ltd., F-27, MIDC,

Hingna, Nagpur. A total of 69 students were present

for the visit. The visit was organized by Prof. V. P.

Kalbande (Class Teacher) & Prof. V. N. Kshirsagar

(Co-Class Teacher).

Mr. Harish Mirani (Director) was very keen in

showing his shop floor to students. The students

interacted & shared their views with the Director,

Engineer & workers there. The industry was well

equipped with all the conventional manufacturing

machines like Shearing Machine, Lathe Machine,

Milling Machine and 25 machines installed from

10T - 650T.

The main functioning is the development and

production of critically important stores like Anti

Tank mine, PVC magazines, Rifle Butts and Anti

Personnel mines amongst many others. Company

manufactures defense related stores. Apart from this welding & grinding operations were also being

performed.

ISR Activities

Meditation programme organized for

MCA students of GHRCE, Nagpur

As we know there used to be stress on mind of

students by performing many activities and study,

the meditation proramme was organized for MCA

students on 17/12/2016 to feel stress free. Instructor

named Brahmakumari Damayanti Didi from

Prajapati Ishwariya University, Vasant Nagar

Nagrpur was called for the program. She covered

Raj Yoga steps in programme.

Students were so happy after doing meditation and

asking for many such programs to arrange in near

future.

Prof. M. P. Bhorkar attended a STTP on

“Computational Mechanics & Modeling”

at SVNIT, Surat

Prof. M. P. Bhorkar with Dr. J. L. Asawa & Dr. V.

L. Manekar A one week STTP was organized by Civil

Engg. Dept., SVNIT, Surat on “Computational

Mechanics & Modeling” (CMM 2016) from 26 to 30

Dec. 2016. Prof. M. P. Bhorkar, Civil Engg. Dept.

GHRCE, Nagpur has attended this STTP and he got

benefited from the training. The training included

the hands on practice of ANSYS & MIKE 11

software including the theory sessions of Fluid

equations. The guidance by Dr. V. L. Manekar,

Coordinator, Dr. P. L. Patel, Co-cordinator, STTP

had been important for those who are pursuing their

research work in water resources specialization.

all faculties of Civil Engg. Dept. and gave credit to

Dr. P. R. Bajaj, Director & Dr. P. Y. Pawade, Prof.

has conducted 3 days Conference on Women in

Computing technologists including professionals

and students to build their networks, discover

opportunities and receive guidance to advance their

careers in technology.

The main purpose of this conference was to

build their networks for careers in technology,

focused on advancing a gender diverse technology

work force, Network Equality Paves the Way for

Digital India and Personal Branding: a leadership.

Technical women professionals from organizations,

government and academia, Women undergraduate and

graduate students from computing and technology

backgrounds all over India participated in the ABI.

Faculties from all over India participated in the

workshop.
