◦ Data shown in phase 1 is supported by standards-compliant calendar systems including Google Calendar. New data in Phase 2 includes separation of assignments from tasks, and rich data for class events and assignments. Phase 2 data is not supported by Google Calendar or other standards-compliant calendar systems.◦ Grouping calendar collections for
classes.
◦ Separation of assignments from tasks.
◦ Assignment titles as links.
◦ Assignment-specific data such as inline links to readings, Submit links, etc.

Google CalendarIssues to resolve◦ What happens at the end of the semester?
◦ What is the relationship between assignments and portfolios?
◦ Coloring of calendars and lists: Too many organizing principles at work here. Near-monochrome may be the best visual design.◦ Authoring calendar items: Data is richer
than Google Apps supplies, so authoring will need to be in CalCentral. But there can be a representation of each task, assignment and event in an external calendar system.
◦ Grey-out check boxes are intended to signify boxes that will be automatically checked when an assignment is submitted. All check boxes shown need graphic redesign.
◦ May need to provide a way for users to set and sort by priorities for tasks and assignments. Also need a graphical way to communicate urgency such as "due very soon" and "overdue." investigate use of color for this.◦ Which data is within CalCentral? This has
implications for searching.
◦ Need to design filtering, and views for day, week and month.
◦ User feedback is needed on the labels "Assignment" "Task" and "Event".
