They can try weaving palm leaves for puso or decorate a carroza. Watch how a bugsay (boat paddle) is made or play a game of sungka with sea shells. These hands-on activities are designed to let children explore and use their senses and imagination, play games and create traditional Filipino handicrafts. Understanding your culture also gives you a sense of belongingness, a sense of security, which is very important for kids to have, said Amaya Aboitiz, executive director of the Dolores Aboitiz Children's Fund (DACF) of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. which is mounting these activities in collaboration with some of the participating museums and heritage sites. Kids below 7 years old can join for free. Children 7 years old and above need to purchase Gabii sa Kabilin tickets for P150 at participating museums and in the concierge desk at the Ayala Center. Children must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a ticket-holding adult.
