NIGERIA 1317 JUNE 2016 GENDER ACTION LEARNING SYSTEM FOR FINANCIAL INCLUSION A WINWIN WORKSHOP RUFIN and IFAD PTA Gender Desk have joined efforts to empower rural households and communities in Nigeria for financial inclusion and sustainability. The Gender Action Learning System is used as a tool and approach to empower clients, field agents, financial service providers and apexes, under supervision of the Central Bank of Nigeria and Rural Outreach Coordination Committee. VISIONING PLANNING WINWIN DIALOGUE Using Financial Inclusion soul mate, financial inclusion vision journey and national financial inclusion strategy Using Wealth creation vision journey, challenge action tree, gender balance tree, social empowerment map Using Winwin tree for clients/GALS champions, volunteers, financial service providers, apexes, and RUFIN ACHIEVEMENTS The key achievements of the winwin workshop are • a broadened understanding of financial inclusion at different levels (individual, household, group, institutions) • a better understanding and usage of the GALS methodology/tools • a winwin dialogue between clients and financial service providers for action taking and achieving financial inclusion together as partners.
