THE BABY CAKES – e New Orleans Baby Cakes come out of the All- Star break with tonight’s opener of a four-game set against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. e ‘Cakes have dropped nine of 12 meetings this year, including three of four at the Shrine from April 17-20, and are 22-36 vs. the Sky Sox since Colorado Springs became a Brewers affiliate in 2015. ese are the only four home games in a 20-day stretch for New Orleans. LAST TIME OUT – Tomas Telis knocked in three runs to liſt the Baby Cakes to a 7-4 win over Colorado Springs on Sunday. Jett Bandy’s two- run double in the first inning gave the Sky Sox a quick 2-0 lead, but the Baby Cakes responded to score the next five runs. Telis evened the score with a two-run double of his own in the third, and Braxton Lee delivered a go-ahead RBI single an inning later to cash in Jon Rodriguez’s leadoff double. An error brought in the second tally of the frame, and Peter Mooney added a run-scoring grounder in the fiſth. Bandy added another RBI double in the sixth, and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Andres Blanco to move Colorado Springs within a run. ON THE HILL – Dillon Peters will make his 10th start of the season and first career start against the Sky Sox tonight. Despite owning a 2-4 record and 6.60 ERA, Peters is 2-2 with a 2.10 ERA in four home starts, and has surrendered just two runs on 10 hits in 14.0 innings over his last two outings at the Shrine, both victories. Peters opened the season in the Marlins rotation, making six starts and going 2-2 with a 6.31 ERA before being optioned to New Orleans on May 4. He returned to the Marlins prior to the break and pitched 2.0 innings of relief last ursday at Washington, yielding four runs and five hits. DEAN OF HITS – Austin Dean has hit safely in 22 of his last 29 games, batting .307 (32x104), and owns a .334 average overall between NOLA and Jacksonville, good for 18th in all of Minor League Baseball. He hit .420 (34x81) in 22 games at Double-A to be named April’s Southern League Player of the Month, pacing the circuit in batting average, hits, total bases (53), slugging (.654) and OPS (1.120). 2018 seasonHEY, PEDRO! – A! er appearing on his � rst Opening Day roster with the Marlins, Peters went 2-2 with a 6.31 ERA (18 ER/25.2 IP) in six games, including � ve starts. He was optioned to New Orleans on 5/3.

SHOOTING BLANKS – In his season debut on 4/1, Peters shut out the Cubs on six hits for 6.0 innings. It marked his third career scoreless start, including a 5.2-inning performance against Atlanta in � nal start of 2017, giving him 11.2 consecutive innings without allowing a run.

NOT SO GRAND – Peters saw his scoreless streak end on 4/7 at Philadelphia, when he surrendered nine runs in 2.2 innings. He served up two grand slams, becoming the � rst pitcher in Marlins history to do so in the same game, and the � rst MLB hurler to do so since Mike Fiers in 2015.
