Cutting Instructions:Please read all instructions carefully before beginning. Strips are cut across the width of fabric (perpendicular to selvedges) unless other-wise stated. All seams are sewn with a 1/4" seam unless otherwise stated. Label all pieces. RST = right sides together.

From double side fusible web: Fuse to the wrong side of the fabric following the manufactures' instructions. 1. Two 4" x 20" rectangles - fuse to the wrong side of

Fabric C to cover the entire width of fabric2. Two 4" x 4" squares, fuse one to the wrong side of

Fabric D and one to the wrong side of Fabric EFrom Fabric A:1. Cut six 6 3/4" strips; sew together end to end and cut

two 6 3/4" x 42 1/2" strips and two 6 3/4" x 56" strips.2. Cut two 4" strips; cut twenty-four Template 1.3. Cut two 3 1/4" strips; cut thirty-two Template 2.4. Cut two 1 1/2" strips; cut two 1 1/2" x 15 1/2"

rectangles and two 1 1/2" x 24 1/2" rectangles.From Fabric B:1. Cut as many 1" bias strips as possible from the fabric. Sew

together end to end to make one continuous bias strip. Press all seams open, then use the bias tape maker to make 1/2" bias tape from the strip.

From Fabric C:1. Trace and cut fifty-seven of the Single Leaf Template

and three of the Multi-Leaf TemplateFrom Fabric D:1. Trace and cut one Bird Template (right side up) and one

2. Sew Template 1, 3, 5, and 7 together as shown to make Pieced Border B. Make two. Trim and square to 13" x 24 1/2". Sew two 10" x 13" G rectangles to either side, press and set aside (Figure 2).

3. Measure and mark 2 1/2" in from either end of the 6 3/4" x 56" A strips. Pin the 1/2" B bias tape to the strips, starting and ending with the tape to the inside of the marks, curving up and making a gently waving line as shown. Secure the bias tape by edge-stitching with matching thread and remove the pins. Peel the paper backing off the C Single Leaf Templates. Fuse fourteen to the strips, alternating sides of the bias strip and evenly spaced across. Make two.

4. Place the left facing Bird Template on the top left corner of one of the above appliqué strips. Fuse in place and secure with stitching. Peel and fuse the Multi Leaf Templates. Use the Template sheet provided for placement and layering. With a removable marking pen, draw the branches and embroider by hand. Use a backstitch for the branches and french knots for the berries. This will be the top border (Figure 3).

5. Place the right facing Bird Template in the bottom right of the remaining applique strip. Fuse in place and secure with stitching. Peel and fuse the Multi Leaf Templates. Use

the Template sheet provided for placement and layering. With a removable marking pen, draw the branches and embroider by hand. Use a backstitch for the branches and french knots for the berries. This will be the bottom border (Figure 4).

6. Measure and mark 2 1/2" in from either end of the 6 3/4" x 42 1/2" A strips as shown. Pin the 1/2" B bias tape to the strips, starting and ending with the tape to the inside of the marks, making a gently waving line that matches the pattern of the top and bottom borders. Secure the bias tape by edge-stitching with matching thread and remove the pins. Peel the paper backing off the Fabric C single leaf templates. Fuse fourteen to the strips, alternating sides of the bias strip and evenly spaced across. Make two and set aside as the Side Applique Borders (Figure 5).

7. Sew the 1 1/2" x 15 1/2" A strips to the sides of the 15 1/2" x 22 1/2" G panel. Press open, then sew the 1 1/2" x 24 1/2" A strips to the top and bottom.

8. Sew Pieced Border A to the sides of the quilt center. Press. Sew Pieced Border B to the top and bottom, paying careful attention to the orientation of the Fabric I motifs in each panel piece are oriented in the same way. Set the quilt top aside for now.

9. Sew the Side Appliqué borders to the quilt top, matching ends and centers. Press, then sew the top and bottom appique borders to the quilt top, match ends, centers, and applique vines.

Finishing:1. Prepare backing with a vertical seam. Press seam open.

Trim backing to 64" x 64".2. Layer quilt, batting, and backing. Baste layers together.3. Quilt as desired.4. Trim layers even with quilt top.5. Join six 2 1/4" F binding strips with diagonal seams. Press

seams open. Attach binding using your favorite method.6. Make a label and sew to the back of the quilt.
