Runestone Electric Association’s Operation Round

Up® has distributed nearly $790,000 in grants to

community-minded groups and organizations

throughout the Cooperative’s service territory since

its inception in 2003. Over 65% of REA’s members

allow their bills to be rounded up to the next dollar

with the average monthly contribution being 48¢.

The Garfield Community Club was one of 34 area

organizations that shared in the $16,950 in grants

from Operation Round Up.

The Community Club received a grant in the

amount of $200 that will be used to assist in paying

for the different actives during the Garfield Festival

that will be held August 12 and 13th this year. Eve-

ry year the Garfield Festi-

val is supported by dona-

tion from local businesses

and residents. Without

their continuous support

the Garfield Festival

would not be a success.
