GC Journeys & MURACEDepartment Mini-Grant
Due Nov. 15Winners Announced: Dec 1
GC Journeys and MURACE have teamed up to offer an
Undergraduate Department Mini-Grant. Professional
Development funds will be available for winning
departments in order to support undergraduate research
& creative endeavors as a transformative experience.
Faculty must agree to mentor at least one undergraduate
project, and students must present their work at the GC
Student Research Conference, the Georgia
Undergraduate Research Conference, or a disciplinary
conference.

Dr. Alby presents with George KuhDr. Cynthia Alby was a co-presenter in the session
"Expanding Definitions of Evidence for Equity" at the
National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment
(NILOA), where she discussed GC Journeys. Dr. Alby
presented along side Dr. Claire Jacobson (National
Association of System Heads) and George Kuh, author of
Student Success in College. Kuh, a Chancellor's Professor
at Indiana University, is known for his work in identifying
high impact practices, and as the founder of NILOA.

21 Georgia College student presentations were accepted for the Georgia Undergraduate
Research Conference, hosted by University of North Georgia on November 1st-2nd.

The Research Round-Up was a great event, helping connect faculty and students to learn
more about research opportunities available on campus. A big thanks to all the faculty who
attended.

2018 data. The participation in GC Journeys is based on a survey with 453 students
responding. This is students self-reporting whether they participated in GC Journeys,
desegregated by Traditional, Underrepresented, and Pell-Eligible students.
