Question 3: Effects of Light

The questionImpressionist painters were inspired by how the effects of light changed the appearance of their subjects. More recently, artists Susan Derges and Garry Fabian Miller have exploited the effects of light to create camera-less photographs, and filmmaker Tacita Dean has explored the unique effects of projected light.

What to do this week

1.Decide on what aspect of the effects of light you want to focus on 2. Select an artist that also focuses on this (the artist could be one you choose but check with me first)3. create a pastiche of your favourite piece by that artist4. Analyse their work using a prompt sheet5. Creatively present images of the artist’s work, your pastiche and analysis on an A2 sheet.
