GCVS has teamed up with Skills Development Scotlandto help you to access potential training rebates throughFlexible Training Opportunities.

They will refund 50% of the cost of up to 10 training courses– at up to £500 per course.

So, for example, if your training costs £600, Skills DevelopmentScotland will refund £300. If it costs £1200, they will refund £500.

Any Scottish voluntary or community organisation with fewer than150 employees can apply. This number can include volunteerswith your organisation.

How do you apply for this funding for thetraining in this brochure?

We have negotiated to make the scheme as hassle-free as possible:

Developing Your OrganisationDeveloping your organisation is a constant process, andespecially important when the economy is stagnating.This programme provides you with expertly-facilitatedtime out to learn about organisational development.

We use a variety of learning tools, processes and organisational change theories in a series ofmodules and coaching sessions. And crucially, over the duration of the learning programme, you willactually work upon an organisational development initiative that is tailored to your own organisation’sneeds. This programme has been designed to help your organisation’s management understand what the future holds. It willprovide you with information, help you understand and use tried-and-tested organisational planning tools - but probablyjust as importantly give you a space to think and plan. Over the two days we will also explore different models, casestudies ideas and options around organisational transformation. This halfday will provide you with thinking space and an opportunity to explore driving and restraining forces and planning yourresponse by working through Force Field analysis with consultancy support. The aim is to ensure you leave thesession with confidence that you have carried out a detailed analysis and you have a plan to develop your organisation.

Swapping Shoes ProgrammeGCVS will be working with teaching consultancy Later Learning over the coming year to help them deliver sessionsof their innovative Swapping Shoes programme. The sessions are intended for clients of voluntary and communityorganisations and will be very competitively priced.

What is Swapping Shoes?Swapping Shoes is a unique adult learning experience which brings together groups of adults with common experiencesand challenges. This programme provides an opportunity for them to look into the lives of others who face similarsituations and challenges. Attendees are encouraged to use the knowledge and learning they already have to discussand develop ways to make things better.

The aim is to create a comfortable environment for the customer, where they are more likely to engage in, and sharecommon experiences with others who are participating. Swapping Shoes will explore:
