GEA GigaSlicer

The GEA GigaSlicer is the high capacity solution within the slicer portfolio incorporatesinnovative technology and hygienic design. The large cutting cross-section of 550 x 210 mmenables cutting of, e.g. five sausages with a diameter of 110 mm or four cheese logs with adimension of 110 x 165 mm. Functions like motorised adjustment of the blade position inrelation to the product and automatic cutting gap setting guarantee constantly uniformportioning. The patented idle cut rotor system contributes to consisten slice quality and largelyeliminates sliver slices. The optional feed for products having a length up to 3200 mm makes itpossible to change over the entire production process having optimum product utilisation.

Working principleThe product will be loaded automatically into the slicer, fed towards the rotating involute blade and be cut. On the portioningconveyor the standard portion forms like shingle, stack, zig-zag stack and shaved are built. Due to the adjustable rotor head, a perfectblade position in relation to the product is guaranteed. The traction system is guiding and stabilizing the products till the cutting areaand during cutting process. Due to the independent drives up to 4 lanes it is possible to cut even products of different lengths.
