    GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPORTING AND TESTING ATAIR FORCE SELECTION BOARD

    1. Reporting. The attached call letter is the authority for you to report at theBoard for interview. The same is to be handed over to the Board on your arrival. Youmust report for the interview on the date and time as specified in the Call Letter. Latecomers, on any account (inclusive of late running of trains) will not be admitted fortests. A representative in Air Force uniform will meet you at the Railway Station and

    escort you to the Selection Board.

    2. Boarding and lodging. Free boarding and lodging will be provided duringyour stay at the Board. Those candidates who arrive before the date and timeindicated in the call letter will have to make their own arrangements. Parents/guardians accompanying the candidates will have to make their own arrangements.

    3. Selection Procedure. The testing schedule is in two phases and normallyfor a period of five to six days depending upon the contingencies and will be asfollows:

    Note.

    (a) Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) would be conducted forrecommended candidates who are eligible and have opted for Flying Branch.

    (b) Phase 1 tests comprising of Officers Intelligence Rating Test (OIR)followed by Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT) would beconducted on Day 1 and only those who qualify in Phase-I tests will beretained at AFSB for further testing in Phase-II.

    (d) Some of the Group Tests demand active physical participation fromwhich no exemption is permissible.

    4. Documents. You are required to bring the following relevantdocuments, which will be checked/ retained/ returned after verification:-

    (a) Original Matriculation/ Secondary School Certificate issued by CBSE/ICSE/ State Board. No other certificate will be accepted for verification of date

    of birth.

    (b) Original Marks Sheet of Matriculation/ Secondary Examination.

    (c) Original Marks Sheet & Certificate of 10+2 (issued by Board only).

    (d) Original/ Provisional Graduation Degree/ Post Graduation DegreeCertificates and Marks Sheet of each year/ semester issued by University onlyfor verification of educational qualifications which makes you eligible for thecourse. Provisional Certificate issued by college principal is not acceptable.However, Provisional Degree Certificate issued by University is acceptable. In

    case of final year/ semester students, a certificate from College Principalclearly mentioning the following aspects annotated with proper stamp and sealof the Institution is required:

    (i) Name of College.

    (ii) Name of University.

    (iii) Discipline of Graduation/ Post Graduation.

    (iv) Aggregate Percentage.

    (v) Likely Date of Declaration of Final Result (DD/MM/YYYY

    Format).

    (e) Two attested photocopies of each of the above mentioned certificates.

    (f) Original NCC Certificate (if applicable).

    (g) NOC from employers for candidate working in Central/ StateGovernments or PSUs.

    (h) Original valid Commercial Pilots License, issued by DCGA, ifapplicable.

    (j) Inbound Railway Ticket /Bus Tickets. (For refund of Travelling

    Allowances).(k) Twenty copies of recent passport size colour photographs (withnegative) taken in light colored clothes against white background.

    (l) Candidates not in possession of the above documents or thosewho do not meet the eligibility conditions, should not report to theSelection Board, as they will not be accepted for the tests and willbe routed back without payment of TA.

    5. ID Proof. You must bring copy ofAdmit Card along with any of the theseID Proof:Voters ID/ Passport/ Driving License/ PAN Card/College ID as proof of

    your identity along with two visible photo copies of the same.

    6. Requisites. You are advised to bring the following items:

    (a) One pair of White Shirt/ T-Shirt, Shorts/ Trouser/ Track Suit/ Salwarkameez, Socks and a pair of white sports shoes.

    (b) Adequate writing material (lnk/ baIl point pens, blue/ black ink and lead

    pencils).

    (c) Clothing, according to season.

    (d) Medium size locks to safeguard your personal luggage.

    7. Traveling Allowance(TA). Traveling Allowance by the shortest route forSleeper Class Mail/ Express Trains to and fro for the journey from the place of CallUp or departure (whichever is nearer) is admissible. Change of address, if any, mustbe intimated to the Board well before your arrival. You shall furnish the railway ticket/bus ticket to the Board, failing which no TA will be paid. For all other modes of travel,TA will be admissible as per the government authorized rules. No TA is admissible,

    if you have already appeared for earlier AFCAT Entries at any of the Air ForceSelection Boards.

    8. Medical examination. Recommended candidates for the Flying Branchwill be required to proceed for medical examination for duration of four to seven daysto Air Force Central Medical Establishment, New Delhi or Institute of AerospaceMedicine, Bangalore. It may be noted that the Air Force Medical Board/ ServicesMedical Board is the final authority while deciding the medical fitness for joining theIndian Air Force/ Army/ Navy. You are advised to see the details about MedicalStandards on our website, www.careerairforce.nic.in.

    9. Discipline. Your conduct and behaviour during your stay at the Board isexpected to be disciplined and orderly. Any act of indiscipline or misconduct will leadto cancellation of your candidature. In all matters pertaining to indiscipline and/ ormisconduct, the decision of the President of the Board shall be final and no appealagainst his decision will be entertained. Should you try and influence any member ofthe Board directly or indirectly, your candidature will be cancelled.

    10. General. No facility exists at the Board for safe custody of cash andvaluables. Therefore, do not bring any valuables or excess money. Candidates arenot permitted to carry their mobile phones, laptops and cameras inside theSelection Board premises.

    11. Warning. You should withhold your move, in case you have a relative, whois a member of the Board. Inform us the particulars of the person concernedimmediately and await further instructions.

    12. All correspondences with regard to this Call letter should be addressed to thePresident of the Board giving full details, including AFCAT Number and Roll No.Request for second call is not normally entertained except on extremelycompassionate grounds or as per the selection schedule being followed by theBoard.

    Note. These instructions are general in nature. The instructions contained in theadvertisement for your course and call letter will be binding in determining yourcandidature for test and interview. In all matters, the decision of Air Force authorityshall be final.
