3. DISTRICT AT A GLANCE: Karimnagar district is one of the 31 districts of the Indian State of Telangana. Karimnagar city is its administrative headquarters. GEOGRAPHY: The district is spread over an area of 2,128 square kilometres (822 sq mi). Karimnagar shares it boundaries with Jagtial and Peddapalli district on north, Warangal Urban district and Siddipet district on south, Rajanna District on the East and Jayashankar Bhupalpally District on west. DEMOGRAPHICS: As of 2011 Census of India, the district has a population of 10,05,711.It has a literacy rate of 69.16% and density of 423 persons per sq.km., making it fifth most literate and densely populated district among 31 districts of Telangana. Total urban population of the district is 3,08,984, which is 30.72% of total population.[5] It has a single municipal corporation (Karimnagar) and two Nagar-Panchayats (Huzurabad and Jammikunta). ADMINISTRATIVE DIVISIONS: The district is divided into two revenue divisions of Karimnagar and Huzurabad. These are sub-divided into sixteen mandals. There are 210 revenue villages and 276 Gram-Panchyats in the district.

5. Infrastructure Existing Status of industrial Areas Land Details in the District
Industrial Estate at Karimnagar in 34.65 acres has been established with 37 sheds
and 31 plots. One Mini Industrial Estate is exclusively meant for SC entrepreneurs with 12
sheds, is existing in the Industrial Estate. INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AREA:
The Industrial Development Area at Ramagundam with 64 plots in 52.25 acres has
been developed and all the plots were allotted. AUTONAGAR, KARIMNAGAR:
An Autonagar at Bye pass road, Karimnagar with 140 plots in 17.5 acres has been
developed and allotted to Automobile units. There is no dearth of land to acquire for
industrial purpose. NEW PROPOSALS:
35 acres at Bommakal village of Karimnagar Mandal is also under acquisition for
establishment of Industrial Parks.

WATER FACILITIES:
The principal river flowing in the district is Godavari. The major resources of water
in the district are Kakatiya Canal of S.R.S.P., Upper and Lower Manair dams. The ground
water is abundantly available in the district catering to the needs of agrarian community
through Canals, Tanks and Tube wells etc.
TELECOM Infrastructure / COMMUNICATIONS:
The Communication system has spread to nook and corner of the district. Tele-
density in the district is tremendously increased due to the advent of cellular operators like
BSNL, Airtel, Hutch, Idea, Reliance and Tata Indicom. POWER:
There are 20 Sections, 41 (33x11 KVA) Sub stations and 6 (133x33 KVA) Sub-
stations and 1 (220x133 KVA) Sub-station including 1 Industrial feeder at Manakondur. Also in this 200 11kva feeders/villages in this district.
TRANSPORT:
The District is connected with a net work of R&B Roads, Zilla Parishad, Mandal
Parishad Roads, in addition to RAJEEV RAHADARI from Hyderabad to Ramagundam to
cater to the needs of remote and Coal belt areas. Rail Transport system covers (7)
mandals in the district. The district has road & rail transport up to the ports of Vizag and
Chennai.
