Resumption of Service Task Force and Closing Remarks
Resumption of Service Guiding Principles
Minimize AccessRestrict public access to AirTrain stations, rental car facilities, public spaces in cargo facilities (patron business counters), and other areas where patron services are performed.
Minimize Dwell Speed the traveler journey within air terminals from the front door to the cabin door by minimizing dwell at passenger processing points and minimizing distractions along the way and providing clear directions and wayfinding.
Minimize ContactReplace customer-facing services with electronic servicing via customers’ mobile devices to reduce need for face-to-face interactions and minimize passenger contact with touch surfaces (such as kiosks) within the terminal. Push interactions to customer mobile devices.
Maximize HygieneEnhanced cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting regimens have become the new normal and both employees and customers will continue to be expected to frequently wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer.
Communications Plan Framework

Safety LeadershipThe COVID-19 pandemic has required JFK to raise our demanding standards to an even higher level. Informed by in-house and industry experts, along with infection prevent and control leaders around the globe, we are launching new standards designed to respond to our new environment and enhance safety for all our passengers, employees and partners.
Trust
These are historic times and we want to welcome all our passengers, employees and partners back to an environment where they know they’ll be safe. Adopting to our new normal is a journey and in the weeks and months ahead we will continue to evolve our practices to ensure we are responding to the latest CDC/WHO guidelines to keep our airport, and broader communities healthy.
Collaboration
Throughout this pandemic, we have learned that we are all one community in this together. We must collectively care for each other and are counting on all our employees, partners and passengers to keep each other safe. We all play a role in abiding by government recommendations for distancing and hand hygiene and must adopt new behaviors and technologies to stop the spread of COVID-19 and make air travel safe for all.
LeadershipThe people of New York and New Jersey are renowned for rising up in the face of adversity and we will do it again. JFK is part of the lifeblood of our region and through innovation, resiliency, and commitment we will help lead the way for the rebirth of air travel for our region and country.
