Accommodations: Your highly rated accommodations are chosen on the basis of loca- tion, cleanliness and dining facilities, as well as the warm hospitali- ty of their management and staff, and are the best hotels and motels available. Room assignments are always made by the motel/hotel in an impartial manner. However, if there is a need, we will make a spe- cial request. Please advise when making reservations if you have a special need. 3. Sightseeing: All sightseeing tours, guides, and admissions are covered in the tour price as outlined in the itinerary. 4. Baggage: Baggage service on all overnight trips is provided to you free of charge. You may bring a small overnight bag, which would be your responsibility. Each person is allowed (1) one suitcase, not to weigh more than 45 pounds. Don’t overpack. It is always wise to travel light. 5. London Bridge. In 1962,London Bridge was fallingdown. Built in 1831, thebridge couldn’t handle the

ever-increasing flow of traffic across theThames River. The British governmentdecided to put the bridge up for sale andRobert McCulloch founder of LakeHavasu City, Arizona and Chairman ofMcCulloch Oil Corporation submitted thewinning bid of $2,460,000. The bridgewas dismantled, each stone was num-bered. Everything was shipped 10,000miles to Long Beach California and thentrucked to Lake Havasu City.Reconstruction began on September 23,1968 with a ceremony including the LordMayor of London who laid the corner-stone. On October 10, 1971 the bridgewas dedicated. We will overnight in LakeHavasu area. Do you feel lucky tonight?Then take the Tecopa Ferry for a rideacross the lake to Havasu Landing Casino.

ture, created by Danny West of Walnut Ridge,is a tribute to commemorate the Beatles historicstopover in Walnut Ridge Airport in Septemberof 1964. Wonders. South Rim Grand Canyon is themost visited attraction in Arizona.Following our visit we will board theGrand Canyon Railroad for a scenic ride toWilliams Arizona. The trip measures 65miles and takes 2 hours and 15 minuteseach way—45 minutes faster than in 1901when the train made its first trip. We willovernight in Williams.

10 Today we travel to Window Rock,Arizona to visit the Navajo Veteran’s

Memorial, Navajo Tribal Park, which ishome Window Rock.  This majestic circu-lar rock formation serves as a backdrop ofthe Navajo Nation capital.  This site is alsohome to a hand-carved detailed NavajoCode Talker statue and a place that paystribute to Navajo veterans.  Unbeknownstto many, the Navajo language played a verysignificant role in U.S. history. In fact, theNavajo language was used as a secret codein World War II, which was never brokenby the enemy.  Then on to Santa Fe NewMexico for a two night stay.

11Trolley tour of Santa Fe to include avisit to Loretto Chapel. When the

Loretto Chapel was completed in 1878,there was no way to access the choir loft

twenty-two feet above. Legend says that tofind a solution to the seating problem, theSisters of the Chapel made a novena to St.Joseph, the patron saint of carpenters. Onthe ninth and final day of prayer, a manappeared at the Chapel with a donkey and atoolbox looking for work. Months later,the elegant circular staircase was complet-ed, and the carpenter disappeared withoutpay or thanks. After searching for the man(an ad even ran in the local newspaper) andfinding no trace of him, some concludedthat he was St. Joseph himself, havingcome in answer to the sisters’ prayers. Thestaircase has two 360 degree turns and novisible means of support. Also, it is saidthat the staircase was built without nails -only wooden pegs. Questions also sur-round the number of stair risers relative tothe height of the choir loft and about thetypes of wood and other materials used inthe stairway’s construction. The staircasehas been the subject of many articles, TVspecials, and movies including “UnsolvedMysteries” and the television movie titled“The Staircase”. This afternoon on yourown to enjoy downtown Santa Fe. Dinnerwill be included tonight.

scenery. Our first stop will be Fort Union.Explore the rich and diverse history of FortUnion and discover how the fort foreverchanged the cultural landscape of theSouthwest. Second on the list Taos Pueblo.Archaeologists say that ancestors of the TaosIndians lived in this valley long beforeColumbus discovered America and hundredsof years before Europe emerged from theDark Ages. Last we will visit the Rio GrandeGorge Bridge One of America’s highest andmost famous bridges, the route 64 crossing ofthe Rio Grande near Taos, New Mexico wascompleted in 1965. The bridge received theAmerican Institute of Steel Construction’saward for “Most Beautiful Long Span SteelBridge” of 1966. In 1997 it was placed on theNational Register of Historic Places.Following our bridge visit we will take thescenic route to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Thiswill be our home for the night. 9 Our first stop will be the Ghost town ofCochise, Arizona. Cochise was created as

a fuel stop on the Southern Pacific Railroad inthe 1880's. Its peak population was about 3000people. The town has never really diedalthough there are under 50 people living theretoday. The hotel is open to the public and isfull of great antiques. Today, the trains stillroar through Cochise but no longer stop as theneed for coal and water has long been extin-guished. Next town will be Douglas, Arizona.Douglas was first established as a smelter sitefor the prosperous copper mines in Bisbee,Arizona The area also has a history of cattleranching and agriculture dating back to the1800's that continues to thrive to this day. Thehistoric landmarks in Douglas itself includethe Hotel Gadsden, Southern Pacific RailroadDepot, and Slaughter's Ranch. We will visitBisbee, nestled amongst the Mule Mountains,is the picturesque county seat of historicCochise County. The community was foundedin 1880 and named after Judge DeWitt Bisbee,a financial backer of the Copper Queen Mine.Once known as “The Queen of the CopperCamps”, this Old West mining camp proved tobe one of the richest mineral sites in theworld. By the early 1900s, the Bisbee com-munity was the largest city between St.Louis and San Francisco. Last stop will beTombstone “Town too tough to die” Walkthe very same streets here in Tombstonethat Doc Holliday,  Wyatt Earp, JohnnyRingo, Ike Clanton and a host of otherWestern Legends walked over 130 yearsago. You can just feel the history here! Thisis the most authentic Western Town left inthe United States! Return to the hotel forthe evening.

10 Today we travel eastbound to theTexas town of Fort Stockton.

Before checking into our hotel we will visitPaisano Pete, the largest roadrunner in theworld! Paisano Pete, was erected in 1980and declared the largest roadrunner in theworld, at 11 feet tall and 22 feet long. Sincethat time a larger replica of a roadrunnerhas been constructed of recycled materials

in New Mexico. Dinner included tonight.

11 Enjoy the scenery as we travel to SanAntonio, Texas for two nights. Before

checking into our hotel located on theRiverwalk, we will visit the SAS Shoe Factory& General Store. It’s more than just a shoestore. A general store with a complete line ofSAS shoes and handbags, a candy store and anice cream parlor. Visit the 1900’s barn thatincludes a small factory where visitors canwatch skilled show makers create our latestcomfort product.

12 Today a trolley ticket will be providedfor you to visit the Alamo, Imax

Theatre and other interesting places in SanAntonio.

13This morning we will make our way toDallas Texas with a stop in Austin, the

capitol city of Texas. Enjoy a Duck tour ofAustin, 75 minutes of sightseeing that includesHistoric Sixth Street, the State CapitolBuilding, Bob Bullock State History Museum,the Governor’s Mansion and Lake Austin.Overnight accommodation in the Dallas area.Dinner included.

14Today we say good-bye to Texas as wecross Arkansas for our overnight

accommodations in Tunica, Mississippi, locat-ed on the banks of the Mississippi River.Tunica is known as the gaming capital of thesouth. Dinner included tonight.

15Travel to Bon Aqua, Tennessee to visitthe Storytellers’s Museum. The

Storytellers Museum is in a general store thatthe great Red Wortham converted into arecording studio, and that Johnny Cash used asa place for local concerts. Visitors can see thehistoric “Little Stage” where the “SaturdayNight in Hickman County” guitar pulls oncetook place. Johnny’s daughter, Cindy Cash hashelped curators create an experience that willbe unforgettable. The Storytellers HideawayFarm at Bon Aqua belonged to Johnny Cashfor over thirty years. See the house where helived, and the land that he loved, the place hecalled “the center of my universe.” Take ajourney back in time as you tour the house thatwas built before the Civil War by the promi-nent Weems family who had ties to Scottishroyalty and America’s Charles Lindbergh.Overnight accommodations in Nashville.Dinner and entertainment included tonight.

John Fitzgerald “Jack” Kennedy (JFK) wasborn on May 29, 1917, the 35th President ofthe United States, serving from 1961 until hisassassination in 1963. JFK and his siblingslearned to sail on Nantucket Sound, and theVineyard was a frequent destination. Hecame here as a boy, as a young man, and thenwhen he was a congressman and a senator.His family came as well, to sail, to swim, towater-ski, to hobnob, and, on occasion, toattend church at St. Elizabeth’s in Edgartown.It was here in 1999, near the Martha’s

Vineyard Airport, where his son John Jr.’splane crashed into the ocean, killing him, hiswife Carolyn, and his sister in law, LaurenBessette. Their ashes were scattered on thewaters off the island. In 1978 JacquelineKennedy Onassis bought 366 acres ofwindswept dune, freshwater ponds, andcoastal heath in Aquinnah. She maintainedthe home here until her death in 1994. Morerecently, their daughter Caroline has livedthere. In 2006, she received approval for asubdivision of it, so future generations of thefamily might maintain their connection to thisplace. Mackinac Island “Grand Hotel”& Blennerhassett Island
