Additional InformationThe game will be primarily aimed at the young adult mar-ket and above. The genre can be defined as survival hor-ror, but with elements of stealth and puzzle solving, simi-lar to Clock Tower, Haunting Ground, Alien: Isolation and Outlast.

I believe that there is a huge market for horror games. they are one of the most popular types of games, and re-cently, has seen a resurgence of popularity among play-ers, with recent releases such as Outlast receving high praise and attention from reviewers and gamers alike. There has also in recent years, been a decline in what some would call “traditional” survival horror games, with some series like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, which helped define the genre, going down a more Action-ori-ented route. Many players and fans are not happy with this change, so much so that there are petitions online which demand that Konami “Ressurect Silent Hill” (since it’s cre-ation, it has recieved over 1000 signatures, but since the anouncement of the new installment, is no longer being put forward.)

Independant developers have been releasing widely popu-lar horror games, and one of the most notable is “Slender: The Eight Pages” which recieved mainstream attention due to the many gameplay/reaction videos that were post-ed online.

One of the best examples of the popularity of horror games is last year’s “The Last of Us,” which incorporates elements seen in past survival horror games while offer-ing an element of stealth and an engaging story. With the game’s success, many people are hopefull that similar games will come to market, and this game could be one of them.
