Separating biomolecules out of solution A quicker and more effective technique for separating proteins and other biomolecules out of solution has been reported by a group from the University of Tokyo and The Takasaki Radiation Chemistry Research Establishment, which is affiliated with the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, says a report in the Nikkel Weekly, 8 August 1994. The group has found that by fixing elec1~rically charged polymer chains to the pores in a hollow fibre membrane, large volumes of proteins or biomolecules can be separated out of solution.
