Problems

What is geodynamics ?

Earth’s lithosfer

What are layers in earth ?

Structure based on chemist and physics

Technique to determine earth’s

structure

What is it?

The branch of geophysics that focus on measurement, modelling, and interpretation from structure and movement of earth’s mantle, crust and core.

the branch of geology concerned with the forces and processes, esp large-scale, of the earth's interior, particularly as regards their effects on the crust or lithosphere

Scope

Geodynamics observation:

Movement, folding, formation,

deformation, mechanism of plate

tectonic movement

Movement of mantle materials

Heat flow between materials

Rheology from crust, mantle, and

core

Earth dynamics

Here is the earth dynamics:

Solid earth dynamic

Ocean dynamic

Atmospheric dynamic

Enviromental dynamic

Solid Earth dynamic

Crust dynamic

Lithosfer dynamic

Core dynamic

Layers of Earth based on chemist and physical structure

Earth’s Crust

Picture of oceanic crust & continental crust

Lithosphere

Outer layer of earth that is solid and

rigid.

lithosphere consists of crust and outer

mantle bounded direct with

asthenosphere that is plastic mantle.

Theory of Earth dynamic

Theory of contraction and expansion

Theory of magnetic polar wandering

Theory of continental drift

Theory of plate tectonic

What causes the earth to move ?

There are three convection flow: 1st Concept 2nd Concept 3rd Concept

1st Concept: Convection flow is bounded to astenosphere.

2nd Concept: Convection flow that occur throughout the mantel.

3rd Concept: There are the thermal plumes throughout mantle toward the heat source core.

Heat Flow of Earth

Structure of The Earth

How to: Using seismic

The seismic model of the Earth does not by itself determine the composition of the layers.

For a complete model of the Earth, mineral physics is needed to interpret seismic velocities in terms of composition.

The mineral properties are temperature-dependent, so the geotherm must also be determined.

This requires physical theory for thermal conduction and convection and the heat contribution of radioactive elements.
