UTEC Geomarine 20 Old Bond Street Bath, United Kingdom, BA1 1BP UTECsurvey.com GEOTECHNICAL EQUIPMENT geoROV™ Seabed CPT and Sampling System geoROV™ is a comprehensive ROV-deployable seabed Cone Penetration Test (CPT) and sampling system. It is designed to mount quickly and easily onto a standard work-class ROV or trencher. It may also be deployed from its own stand-alone frame or mounted on the geoREACT suction skid for additional reaction support. geoROV™ uses the proven concept of a standard fixed rod 5cm² or 10cm² CPT for testing seabed properties in the upper 3 to 5m. In addition to conventional piezocone CPT testing, geoROV™ can also take 1.0-1.5m length samples from the seabed using a range of state-of-the-art sampling techniques: piston samples liner samples, and push samples. Samples can also be taken up to 3m depth using the Interval Sampler. The system can also be used for other in situ tests such as pore-pressure dissipation monitoring and T-bar measurements. Additional and bespoke seabed in situ testing sensors are also available on request. geoROV™ is an ideal tool where shallow geotechnical data is required and a suitable ROV is available. The system is able to be deployed with great precision to a location which might otherwise present challenges to conventional seabed geotechnical systems, such as in close proximity to infrastructure or where visual aids are beneficial to final touch-down location. It is also ideal for projects requiring high rates of productivity with test locations in close proximity to one another, with over 60 tests per day being readily achievable.

GEOTECHNICAL EQUIPMENTgeoROV™ Seabed CPT and Sampling System

geoROV™ is a comprehensive ROV-deployable seabed Cone Penetration Test (CPT) and sampling system.

The system is able to be deployed with great precision to a location which might otherwise present challenges to conventional seabed geotechnical systems, such as in close proximity to infrastructure or where visual aids are beneficial to final touch-down location.
