We, the class 9b from the Alfred–
Delp Realschule Ubstadt–Weiher in
Germany, were taking part in the
challenge to save the nature. But as
this is a worldwide goal we chose to
get in contact with other schools in
Europe to exchange and find new
ideas and work together to save our
planet.
Class 9E from St Dominic’s chose to
participate in a Consumer Education
recycling programme.
We chose to partner with another
European school – Alfred Delp
Realschule in Germany to exchange
ideas and work together on our
project.

The students were working in groups to
prepare the plastic bottles for the flowers, do
research and create the posters. Others write
down information and the questionnaire.
Our teacher presented a lesson on
Consumerism (Consumer Solutions) which we
posted onto the EU website for other schools
to share.
We also watched a short video on
recyling plastic bottles on Youtube.
Our class completed a recycling audit. We
chose to focus on recycling plastic bottles as
we use a lot of them but do not always recycle
them!

Here are some of our results we exchanged
with our partners at St. Dominic´s Grammar
School for Girls in Belfast. They are shown on
our school website (www.adrs.de)
Here are a sample of our posters which we
shared with our partners. We displayed them
onto the gallery of our school website
(www.stdominics.org.uk) & on our schools
VLE.

We were inspired by a Portugese recycling
design.
