Their performances have ranged from the '97 President Clinton Inaugural Ball to the 2012 NFL Owners Meeting with hundreds of wedding receptions in between. The Boomers consist of singer Vaughan Penn, 2007 "Breakthrough Artist of the Year (New Music Awards), with Mallory Penland on guitars and vocals, Rick Murray on drums and vocals, and David Rhyne on bass, keyboards and vocals.

Corey Smith

The evening’s headliner is singer-songwriter Corey

Smith, who grew up in Georgia, majored in social

studies education at the University of Georgia and

taught high school world geography and world history

before turning to music full-time. In a January 2014

issue, “Country Weekly” called Smith “one of country

music’s most astute songwriters.” A guitarist who

combines rock and blues with his country, Smith has

released nine albums. His most popular songs include

“Twenty One,” “If I Could Do It Again” and “I Love

Everyone.” His most recent video, “Ain’t Going Out

Tonight,” was released in late 2013. His current tour

includes at least 21 venues between now and his visit to

Shelby. All concerts during the Festival are free of

charge. The stage for the concerts will be placed at the

intersection of Lafayette and Warren streets.
