Weighted Funding Available NOW! High school Tech Apps courses are now part of CTE and can

generate weighted funding for schools that enroll students in CS. Exact $$ amounts differ by school but on average this is

approximately $300/student enrolled in a CS course. This funding can be used to pay for equipment, technology,

curriculum, teacher professional development, student competitions, and any other expenditure that other CTE courses use their funding to cover.

Computer Programming I and II (which were CTE courses) have been eliminated.

WeTeach_CS Certification Prep will provide an overview of the educator competencies required of all teachers to become certified in Grades 8-12 Computer Science. This certification is necessary to teach courses such as Computer Science I, II or III, or AP Computer Science A. It can also be used toteach Fundamentals of CS andAP CS Principles.

WeTeach_CS Certification Prep will provide an overview of the educator competencies required of all teachers to become certified in Grades 8-12 Computer Science. This certification is necessary to teach courses such as Computer Science I, II or III, or AP Computer Science A. It can also be used to teach Fundamentals of CS and AP CS Principles. Content from the Foundations of CS for Teachers online course will be covered in four synchronous sessions.

Certification Incentive Program (CIP)

Through the support of SFE & and Microsoft, the CIP provides the opportunity for Texas educators to apply for a $1,000 STIPEND awarded by UT Austin for successfully attaining their certification goal.
