Safety technology that sets new standards

Whether in hotels, congress centres, schools, discotheques or music halls, emergency exit systemsare an indispensable part of building safety and of fire prevention and personal protection in all public buildings, where thousands of people get together.

Legal requirements are correspondingly rigorous. In all these places an emergency exit system is in demand that allows no compromise with regards to safety and takes the different requirements of the buildings into consideration.

With the GEZE-SecuLogic-Emergency Exit System you are sure of getting a future-oriented system solution that unites latest CAN bus technology andcompact design, thus laying down new markers withregards to functionality and design:

� simple link-up to access control systems and danger alarm systems

Convenience and flexibility through bus technology

Bus systems are already used in many sectors of industry and in building management technology in order to link upseveral system components and transfer large quantity of data quickly and with a minimum of cable installation.

The advantages of bus technology are now also used byGEZE SecuLogic in the field of escape route systems, therebyoffering convenient control and monitoring of several escaperoute centres as well as a simple start-up procedure for thesystem.

The linkage of components is based on CAN-bus which hasbeen tried and tested in applications world-wide and which is particularly noted for its high degree of reliability androbustness.

Prepared for emergencies

In order to guarantee a maximum degree of safety, there isthe possibility to connect a smoke alarm system or other higher-order danger alarm systems to the bus system tounlock a selected group of doors or all doors at the sametime. It is also possible to unlock all doors in an emergencyvia the central emergency button in the VAT 220 or at thecontrol panel TE 220.

But of course, the necessary releasing function via emergencybutton remains available at the local door control unit inorder to allow manual operation. The same applies for anyconnected burglar alarm systems and also in case a faultoccurs in the bus.

In addition to the higher-order fire alarm system it is also possible to release each individual door via a local smokedetector.

The combination of GEZE-SecuLogic with an automaticsingle-action door drive will also permit handicapped personsto escape quickly and in the case of fire will provide freshreplacement air. In the case of a power cut the emergencypower supply will ensure uninterrupted operation of theescape route system.

Form and function in synthesis

The system has the additional advantage that it canbe integrated without any difficulty in under-plastersystems, so that safety and the additional convenienceare not obtained at the expense of an aestheticdesign.

The emergency button, controls, local control elements and power pack are accommodated in theelements of the switch programmes Jung Edelstahl, Jung ST 550 alpinweiß and Gira E2 reinweiß , resulting in an elegant and unobtrusive design.

The unit is styled with an understated aesthetic appeal and all essential functional components areclearly discernible.

Above all, the red emergency button, with its potentially life saving function, stands out clearly.

The TZ 220 N is a compact control unit of the GEZE-SecuLogic emergency exit system and allowsmonitoring of a single door in connection with a retention magnet MA 500 or two escape door openers Type 331, which are supplied by the integrated power pack.

Following the EltVTR, the door control unit is equipped with a display unit, indicating the door status and possible alarm events and an emergencybutton with force-release switching element.

The standard equipment also includes: the bus interface and an infrared interface that allows thecommunication with the service terminal ST 220 or parameterisation via the PC as well as an alarmmemory.

The operation on site is made via a key-operatedswitch which can also be used to set the period oftime desired for the temporary release as well as thepre-alarm or main-alarm.

In addition to this the control unit can be used tocreate draught-lobbies without the need for auxiliary modules.

Flush and surface-mounted versions of the door control unit TZ 220 N are available. The flush versions are available from the Jung Edelstahl (special steel), Jung ST 550 alpinweiß(alpine white) and GIRA E2 reinweiß (pure white) range of switches.

All that is required to house the flush versions arestandard 62.5 mm deep switch boxes.

The power pack of the TZ 220 N is able to supply one retention magnet MA 500 or two escape door openers Typ 331 with voltage.

Furthermore there is the possibility to connect a doorcontrol unit TT 220 at the opposite side of the door,which allows the monitor the escape route in bothdirections.

In an emergency the door is unlocked by means ofdirect release, i.e. by operating an emergency buttonor by means of indirect release – by a local smokedetector or a danger alarm system or similar.

The TZ 220 N allows the realisation of passive oractive draught lobbies without the need for auxiliarymodules. Five draught-lobby groups per bus are possible.

The parameterisation of the draught-lobby control ismade by means of the ST 220.

In connection with the TZ 220 N the convenient littlesister of the TZ 220 N, the door control unit TZ 220opens up a variety of further application possibilities.

For this purpose, the terminal box is connected to theTZ 220 via an internal bus with the consequence thatnot only a more efficient power pack but even furtherparameterisable inputs and outputs are available.

The TZ 220 itself has the same features as the TZ 220 N – is, however, supplied with the requiredoperating voltage by the KL 220. The parameterisationof the system is made by means of the service terminal ST 220. Surface-mounted (AP) and flush-mounted (UP) versions of the TZ 220 (TZ 220 AP, TZ 220 UP) are available in the from the ST 550 control range, are available from the Jung Edelstahl(special steel), Jung ST 550 alpinweiß (alpine white)and GIRA E2 reinweiß (pure white) range of switches.

The KL 220 is available as surface-mounted or flush-mounted version as well as for installation in the hood add-on kit of a swing door drive.

The combination of the TZ 200 and the KL 200 allows several locking components to be used on oneindividual door system. The swing door drives, accesscontrol systems, burglar and fire alarm unit and manyother things can be connected via parameterisableinputs and outputs or corresponding alarms and doorstatus can be displayed.

If a burglar alarm system is connected to the system,the door auto-matically locked amd it cannot be inadvertently unlocked, although the possibility ofreleasing the door in an emergency via the emergencybutton on the door control unit, in order to save lives,is not affected by this.

The TT 220 is the parallel operatingboard of the door control units TZ 220 and TZ 220 N and takesover the task of securing an escaperoute in the opposite direction.Connection is made via an internal2-wire bus.

The operating voltage is supplied by the respective central unit.

The door terminal matches thedoor control units and is available as surface-mounted (AP)or flush-mounted (UP) version fromthe Jung Edelstahl (special steel),Jung ST 550 alpinweiß (alpinewhite) and GIRA E2 reinweiß (pure white) range of switches.

This handy service terminal is idealfor easy parameter and functionsettings of the TZ 220, KL 220 andTZ 220 N as well as for status read-outs for maintenance and diagnosispurposes via an integrated infraredinterface. All relevant information isdisplayed on a clear text display.

As an alternative to the service terminal, all settings can also bemade by means of a PC and aseparate infrared adapter IR 220and can be logged in MicrosoftWord*.

The TZ 210 takes over the task ofmonitoring and securing escape routes at minimum costs. For thispurpose the door control unit isequipped with a display unit, an emergency button and a key-operated switch which allows tomake all necessary settings.

The optional power pack is able tosupply a retention magnet MA 500or two escape door openers Type331 with power. We deliberatelydid without a bus and an infraredinterface.

Flush-mounted (UP) and surface-mounted (AP) versions of the TZ 210 are available - the former,from the switch ranges Jung ST 550 alpinweiß (alpine white) and GIRA E2 reinweiß (pure white).

The TE 220 offers bus-compatible control technology with compact outer dimensions and modular design.

A maximum of 15 doors can be temporarily or permanently unlocked and re-locked at the touch of a button. It is possible to unite several doors in groupsand to control these doors as a whole.

In addition to this the actual door status or possiblyalarm events are displayed at any time.

Owing to the key-operated switch the functions mentioned above can be locked for unauthorised persons. In an emergency there is the possibility to release all doors connected to the indicator board via an optional emergency button.

The parameterisation of the system is made via the integrated infrared interface and by means of the ST 220.

A maximum of 40 doors on different levels can beeasily monitored on the screen owing to control andvisualisation software VAT 220.

The actual door status is displayed at the virtual doorcontrol units at any time.

With a simple mouse click it is possible to unlock individual doors – or, in an emergency, all doors simultaneously – via a central emergency button.

Furthermore there is the possibility to list and store all events in a protocol window and to display groundplans of buildings in the background.
