Everyemployeewhocomesincontact with hazardous material must be trained

WHMis reQuireMentsTheWorkplaceHazardousMaterialInformationSystem(WHMIS)isenforcednationwide.Itwasdevelopedasawayofprotectingworkersfromtheadverseeffectsofhazardousmaterialsintheworkplace.WHMISgivesboththeemployersandemployeestherighttoknowabouthazardsassociatedwithchemicalstheyworkwith. ThisisaccomplishedthroughtheuseofMaterialSafetyDataSheets(MSDS),properlabellingandtraining.

WHMis aFter GHsTheoriginalWHMISisnotbeingreplacedbutrather updated to align as closely as possible with the United States and other key trading partners. ThenewWHMISwillbecalled"WHMIS2015".
