Final Day of School is June 10th – Out at NOON !!!!!!
We have our end of year assembly with awards and celebration on the morning of June 10th. Parents are welcome to attend the assembly which begins at 9:00 and ends at 10:30. It is the final day of school so all student belongings go home on this day . This is a half day of school. Lunch is served to all students and the buses run as usual only leaving school by 12:30pm. The office will be closed for a special lunch for staff beginning at 12:30pm. Please do arrange for your child to be picked up from school at noon unless they are in the BASE program with the YMCA. Gilbert school office is open for a few days after students leave. Mrs. Berg will be at school until June 30th. The office will remain open until June 16th. Office hours on the 11-16th are 8:00am-4:00pm.
Graduations at Gilbert ---celebrations /but not their last day Kindergarten : Kindergarten parents and grandparents are invited to come Monday, June 8, at 1:30 to the Gilbert gym-nasium! School age siblings are not invited. The kinders will be singing songs for you in the gym and receiving a certificate in their classroom. Fifth Grade graduation: June 4th, 2:30-3:15 pm is the fifth grade graduation ceremony. We will be in the gym and parents and grandparents are invited. School age siblings are not invited. This is a special time for fifth graders with awards and speeches by fifth grade classmates.
Perfect Attendance Awards- PACE Perfect Attendance Creates Excellence The following 16 students will receive a bicycle from TOYOTA of Yakima for their outstanding attendance this year. It has been PERFECT !!!! Not a single tardy, ab-sence or check out early and this makes for perfect attend-ance. We are SO very proud of you and so thankful your families supported your efforts and helped you to accom-plish this goal . WAY TO GO !

SBAC testing is complete!
Congratulations to our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade stu-dents and their teachers. Students took tests on 45 days in March, April and May!!!!! Oh my, we are glad to be done. Results for third grade are past due and the fourth and fifth grade results will come in over the summer. A special thanks to Mrs. Feusner for all her work as assessment specialist!
Field Day – June 9th June 9th is our annual play day for students and their teachers. PTA and staff put on this half day event for all students . There will not be any “water” events this year due to the drought in the state. Fire trucks will not be coming and dunk slides are not going to be part of our day. BUT we will have lots of games and fun for all. Parents who are helping must be signed up ahead and cleared through background checks with the school district.
Congratulations to Mrs. Brooke Scott on the birth of her daugh-ter! Sophie Rae Scott was born on April 26, 2015 Mom and baby are at home enjoying getting to know each other !
2015-16 School Year Teacher Assignments School opens for 2015-16 on August 26th! Students will receive a post card in the mail announcing who their teacher will be in late August. Look for this in your mail. Lists will not be posted in the building. Teacher assignments are made by teacher teams to provide a mix of students. These decisions are made beginning in June and continue through the summer as registrations come in.
Kindergarten transition week- August 17-21st Mornings only for all incoming kindergarten students who are registered at Gilbert. Info is available at central registration all summer on this.
