For garment industry thecompany has interlining and embroidery withsoluble backing material using PVA fibre. It hassoft feel to it and has bulkiness.     Ginni Filaments as of now would like to focus on consolidating their existing business by finding out ways for cost-

    Fact File:Ginni Filaments started with 25,000 spindles for cotton yarnmanufacturing.Now the company has 1,00,000 spindles, spinning2,000 tonnes of yarns along with 29 knitting machines producing300 tonnes of knit fabric per month.

    In garmenting business, the company has 400 Juki machines,production capacity of 3,00,000 pieces of garments per month.In non-woven business the company has production capacity of12,000 tonnes per annum. Equipped with latest machinery, thecompany has GOTS certification, Oeko-Tex certification and ISO9001, 14001, 18001 certifications for the entire value chain. TheGroup turnover for 2008-09 is Rs. 400 crore.

    The Indian Technical Textiles Scene...According to the industry sources, Reliance Industries is aiming tograb 50% market share of Technical Textiles in India within threeyears. The company has become a member of the US-basedAssociation of the Non-woven Fabrics Industry. Coimbatore-basedShakti Group with an annual turnover of over Rs. 2,000 crore,textiles contributing Rs. 100 crore to it, is looking at diversifyinginto non-woven textile manufacturing and marketing in India.Another entrant in automotive textile manufacturing is AlpsIndustries, which has gone in collaboration with a Japanesetextile company Suminoe Textile Co. Ltd., manufacturer ofautomotive fabrics and interior material to manufactureautomotive fabrics. Alps is alsolooking at geo-textile-coatedfabric manufacturing as well. Tyre manufacturer SRF Ltd. isplanning to invest Rs. 250 crore in its automotive textile project.

    In Medical Textiles, Alhstrom, a global leader in high performancefibre-based materials, has signed a Memorandum of

    Understanding with Mundra Special Economic Zone (SEZ) inGujarat, to purchase a land area of 5 hectares in the Textile andApparel Park to start its production of Medical Textiles. As perRahul Dharam Adhikari, Country Head, the plant would beoperational from December 2009.

    Chandigarh-based Surya Textech, a conventional cotton yarnmanufacturer with a turnover of Rs. 30 crore ventured intotechnical textile just a year back with an investment of Rs 10crore. The company is manufacturing spunbond fabric which meetsthe need of diverse range of products like medical, hygienic and

    industrial market application. Shares, Anurang Gupta, Partner,Surya Textech, We are selling our fabric in roll form primarily inthe domestic market. Our monthly turnover isRs. 2 crore inTechnical Textiles. Our spunbond fabric is breathable, soft light,chemical resistant, non-toxic and environment friendly.
