Dress up to farewell Ms Terris Next Thursday morning we will be having our whole school assembly to farewell Ms Terris Students will be dressing up in home-made costumes that are lsquoout of this worldrsquo to say their good-byes to Brea Teachers will be discussing some dress up ideas with the students Please join us at assembly at 855am on Thursday 29th June with a morning tea to follow in the gym There will be no assembly on Monday next week Enhancing the Play Spaces I worked with the Year 5s and 6s this week and they assisted in categorising and tallying the ideas to put together a range of play space options as outlined in the letters We are proposing to select an area of the playground that will not be impacted in the building project (eg the spaces around the Year 12 classrooms) and will begin putting in place some of the ideas put forward by the students If you have any expertise in landscape architecture or know of someone who does we would be pleased to have your assistance with this Education and Policy Sub-committee to Report to School Council We would like to re-convene this committee which worked to support the School Review process last year We are inviting any parentscarers who would be interested in joining this group to notify me or the office We will be discussing school valuesculturevision the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support planning and whole school data such as the Attitudes to School Survey and NAPLAN The group will give feedback to school council and staff and this will inform our wellbeing planning Communication Applications At school council last night we discussed the various communication apps used by the school Here is some clarification about the purpose of each one Qkr ndash This application is for all payments including lunch orders Hard copy permission forms are sent home with students Seesaw ndash This is an educational communication app between you and your childrsquos class teacher You can access at your convenience It does not include new notifications or homework (these will be sent via hard copy) however it may include friendly reminders or tips regarding excursions or your childrsquos home tasks You will not miss any notifications if you choose not to access this information as these are provided as a hard copy Flexibuzz (formerly Tiqbiz)ndash We are currently looking into the use of Flexibuzz and will provide further information early next term Shade Sales The Third Round School Shade Grants close at 500pm Thursday 29 June 2017 If anyone in the community can assist with completing this grant application including quotes from a provider please contact the office Early dismissal Friday 30th June Just a reminder that the children will be dismissed at 230pm next Friday for the end of term two

We wish the very best of luck to our students competing in the Western Metropolitan Region Cross Country Carnival today and to the Girlrsquos Netball Team who are competing in the Divisional Final tomorrow We are sure yoursquoll do Gisborne Primary proud We hope our Grade 1 students enjoy their excursion to the Rosslynne Reservoir tomorrow morning and that students wishing to add to their home library remember to bring a $2 coin to purchase a book at the PFA Book Stall being held at lunch time on Friday Student reports will be sent home to families next week and we look forward to seeing students dressed ldquoOut of This Worldrdquo at our special assembly next Thursday to farewell Ms Terris (see details below) We hope parents can join us for a morning tea following assembly Next week is the final week of Term 2 and the timetable will be altered to allow teachers planning time for Term 3 Regards Bree and Lisa

Many of our classes across the school have studied ldquoEarth amp Spacerdquo as part of their Integrated Studies Unit for the term
Next Thursday 29th June all students are invited to come dressed ldquoOut of This Worldrdquo
to celebrate the completion of the Earth amp Space Unit and for a bit of fun
Parents please do not go to the expense of buying costumes just a bit of home made fun is all we ask We expect to see a lot of tin foil
Please note that no donation is required and as it is not a casual clothes day students not wishing to participate should wear their normal school uniform on the day
ldquoCOMEDY FOR A CAUSErdquo FUNDRAISER NIGHT
We have sold approximately one third of our ticket
allocation for our Comedy Night being held next
term Thank you to those who have purchased
tickets We have begun to advertise the show
more widely in the community so please book your
tickets now to avoid disappointment
We will be notified in early July which comedians
from the Sydney amp Melbourne International
Comedy festival will be performing
The show will be held on Saturday 29th July
at 8pm at the Gisborne Golf Club
Tickets are $35 each and bookings can be made

limited number of books from Scholastic and wish to give students the opportunity to
purchase a book at low cost
All books cost only $200 each and there will be a limit
of ONE book per student until sold out
Books will be sold on a first come first served basis

Managing Type 1 Diabetes in Children A Parenting Perspective
Being a parent of a child with type 1 diabetes can be extremely stressful The University of Queensland is
seeking parents of children with type 1 diabetes to take part in a research study that will explore factors that could
help or hinder parents in managing their childrsquos diabetes If you are a parent of a 2- to 10-year-old child with type
1 diabetes we would love to hear from you By sharing your experiences (confidentially) you will help us identify
better ways for health care professionals to support parents and families To complete the online survey please

If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent you may be eligible for CSEF The allowance will be paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of you child The annual CSEF amount per student will be $125 for primary students Parents need to apply each year for this allowance

Managing Type 1 Diabetes in Children A Parenting Perspective
Being a parent of a child with type 1 diabetes can be extremely stressful The University of Queensland is
seeking parents of children with type 1 diabetes to take part in a research study that will explore factors that could
help or hinder parents in managing their childrsquos diabetes If you are a parent of a 2- to 10-year-old child with type
1 diabetes we would love to hear from you By sharing your experiences (confidentially) you will help us identify
better ways for health care professionals to support parents and families To complete the online survey please
