y Amateur photographers and garden guests are welcome to shoot photos throughout the Garden as long as they are for their personal use and enjoyment, rather than for commercial or gallery use. All other photography sessions, personal or promotional/commercial, require a reservation, and fees are charged.

Reservations are required for photo shoots; no walk-up requests are granted.

No unauthorized photography sessions are allowed at any time on Garden property, including the SAGE Parking Facility and along the entrance driveway extending from Piedmont Avenue.

A fee is required for photography sessions or promotional/commercial photo shoots that are not part of a private event taking place at the Garden. This includes engagement photos, wedding/bridal photos, and family portraits that are not part of an event booked at the Garden.

Tripods and other large equipment may be used throughout the Garden with the exception of the Fuqua Conservatory (due to the narrow pathways). Promotional photo shoots may use tripods in the Conservatory with permission from the Marketing Department. The Garden is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged equipment.

Personal Photo Shoot

The fee for a personal photo shoot is $200 for up to 10 persons, including the photographer and assistants, for a maximum of two hours. Should the group be larger than 10, the fee is $20 per person. Additional hours may be purchased at a rate of $25 per hour. Garden membership does not entitle the party, or part thereof, to waive this fee.

Due to demand, sessions must be confirmed with payment in full 1 week prior to the session. Photography sessions are not scheduled after hours, on days the Garden is closed, or during specific private events.

Contact the Special Events Department at 404-591-1585 to schedule a personal photo shoot.

Promotional or Commercial Photo Shoot

Photographers for promotional or commercial photo and video shoots (for inclusion in a newspaper, book, magazine, catalog, model portfolio, TV commercial, motion picture, etc.) are charged a location fee and must be scheduled in advance.

Contact the Marketing Department at 404-591-1550 for pricing information or to schedule a promotional or commercial shoot.

Fees directly support the mission of the Garden in developing and maintaining plant collections for display, education, research, conservation and enjoyment.

Parking Facility FAQ

Q: How do I enter the parking facility?A: Garden visitors are encouraged to enter the parking facility from the current entrance at Piedmont Avenue and The Prado and drive onto the top level of the deck. Piedmont Park visitors enter through a new entrance off Monroe Drive onto Worchester Road to enter the bottom level of the deck via a new tunnel.

Q: What are the hours of the parking facility?A: Operating hours are 6 a.m. open to 11 p.m. close Monday – Sunday, seven days a week including all holidays. Basically operating 365 days per year.

Q: Who designed and built the parking facility and who owns it?A: The Atlanta Botanical Garden built the deck and owns it. The design team included architects Jova/Daniels/Busy, general contractor Hardin Construction and project managers Silverman Construction Program Management Inc.

Q: Who operates the parking facility?A: The Atlanta Botanical Garden hired Lancor Parking to operate and manage the facility (Lancor is a joint partnership with Lanier Parking and Cornerstone Parking of Atlanta – local companies).

Q: How many parking spots are in the facility?A: 765

Q: How many levels is the parking facility?A: Six and one half. The first four levels are completely hidden by the 3 sides of the hill and a 16 foot berm planted with large magnolias and other beautiful trees and large shrubs.

Q: What safety measures has the Garden taken to insure people’s safety in the parking facility?A: Like any public parking deck, the Garden encourages visitors to use good judgment when parking such as not leaving valuables behind, locking your car, being aware of your surroundings, etc. The Garden installed some extra safety features including 24-hour alarm pull stations, excellent lighting, an on-site parking manager and surveillance cameras throughout the facility.

Q: How much does it cost to park?A: Daily parking rates are:

First 30 minutes Free

31 – 60 minutes $2.00

Each additional 30 minutes $1.00

Maximum daily rate $15.00

For example, an average visit to the Garden is approximately two hours resulting in a parking fee of $4.00, priced well below the average parking rates in Midtown.

Page 11: GLADE GARDEN GARDENS IN STORZA WOODS … · rental guidelines The Garden is an educational institution, a repository of rare and endangered species, and a living museum. Protection

Q: What happens if I lose my parking ticket?A: Visitors will be charged the maximum daily parking rate of $15

Q: How can I save on parking fees? Is there a parking pass for multiple visits?A: Yes, there is a Multi-Visit Parking Pass for people who frequent the garden and the park. The pass speeds access to both attractions. Garden members are offered a 20% discount at the 5 and 10 time parking visit levels.

# Visits Cost Member Price Member Cost per Visit

5 $20 $16 discount $3.20

10 $38 $30 discount $3.00

25 $65 $65 $2.60

50 $125 $125 $2.50

100 $200 $200 $2.00

Discounts subsidized by the Garden. Processing fee not included. Multi-Visit Parking Cards do not guarantee parking space and are not valid during select special events such as major festivals in the Park.

Q: Where can I purchase the Multi-Visit Parking Pass?A: The Multi-Visit Parking Pass will be available for purchase online at www.atlantabotanicalgarden.org or www.piedmontpark.org and in person at the Garden Gift Shop. We recommend that you purchase your parking pass on-site at the Garden Gift Shop if you want immediate access. Passes purchased or reloaded on-line or by phone will not be accessible during the 2 weeks processing time.

Q: What happens if I lose my Multi-Visit Parking Pass?A: Lost or stolen passes cannot be replaced and no refunds will be issued. The passes should be treated like cash

Q: Why isn’t the Multi-Visit Parking Pass valid for major special events at the Garden or Piedmont Park?A: A flat parking fee will be charged during select events. Parking comes at a premium for the majority of special events in the Atlanta area.

Q: I have a question about the parking facility. Who do I ask?A: The parking facility manager from Lancor is available during normal operating hours to answer most of your parking questions; the Garden’s website should be a great resource as well. You may also want to phone the Garden’s reception-ist at 404-876-5859 and she will direct your question to the most appropriate Garden staff member for a timely reply.

Q: What happens if I lock my keys or get a flat tire in the deck? Who can help me?A: The parking facility will have an on-site manager from Lancor who will be able to assist people in need. The Garden encourages people to also use their 24 hour roadside assistance programs to help.

Q: Can I leave my car parked overnight?A: For the safety of our visitors cars will not be permitted to park overnight

Q: Is there a place in the parking facility where I might lock up my bike?A: Yes, on the top level of the parking facility there is a complimentary bike rack.

Q: Is the parking facility handicap accessible?A: Yes, handicap parking spaces are available as well as elevators.

Q: Why do you call it the SAGE Parking Facility?A: SAGE is an acronym the Garden used to describe the green renovations as part of its master plan that includes more Safety Access Greenspace and Expansion for the community.

Q: How is this parking facility “green”?A: The parking facility is one highlight of the Garden’s green expansion that opened in May 2009. It has been built to the strictest green standards to minimize its impact of the natural surrounding. The green aspects of the parking facility include: increased access to the park and the garden; minimized impact to its surroundings being built into the steep hillside; provides shade for cars; reduces heat island effect created by large surface parking lots; beautifully landscaped so parking facility is 85% screened and greened on opening day and virtually invisible within several years. Parking spots are reserved for Alternative Fuel Vehicles and compact cars. Water runoff from the parking facility is captured and directed to a 95,000 gallon cistern which will filter the water and be used to irrigate 40% of the gardens. Also, the parking facility is shared between the Garden and Piedmont Park increasing access for visitors.
