Shaping Future SystemsThe Fourth Industrial Revolution is transforming the economic, social, ecological and cultural contexts in which we live. Breakthrough technologies are merging the physical, digital and biological worlds in ways that create huge promiseand potential peril, and challenge existing leadership paradigms.
The World Economic Forum has established the Network of the Global Future Councils as an interdisciplinary knowledge network dedicated to promoting innovative thinking to support a sustainable and equitable future. The inaugural Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils taking place in Dubai on 13-14 November 2016 will convene thought leaders from academia, government, business and civil society to develop new perspectives on global systems and the impact and governance of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Objectives of the Global Future CouncilsThe members of the Global Future Councils will come together for the first time in Dubai to build on their respective council mandates.
Councils focused on global systems aim to accelerate progress on major challenges for industry, policy-makers and society by breaking down siloes, integrating wider ecosystems of actors, and mapping systemic transformations.
Councils focused on enablers seek to deepen insight and anticipate the impact of the main drivers of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, both human and technological.

Where will the meeting take place?The Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils 2016 will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Where will I stay?The World Economic Forum has made block reservations in several hotels in Dubai. PublicisLive, the Forum’s logistics operator, handles accommodation and will contact you, provided you are registered for the meeting.
How do I register?Participation is by invitation only and reserved exclusively for members of the Network of the Global Future Councils.
What is the working language of the meeting?Sessions will be held in English with simultaneous interpretation in Arabic for plenary sessions.
Do I need a visa?Please contact the nearest United Arab Emirates embassy or consulate for visa requirements. The World Economic Forum is not responsible for providing visas; however, it works closely with the Government of the United Arab Emirates to facilitate the visa application procedure. Milestones for the Network of the Global Future Councils
Outcomes of the inaugural Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils will feed directly into the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2017 in Davos, the spring regional meetings and the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2017 in the People’s Republic of China.
