PROPERTIESThis patent pending technology is a high per-formance thickening system developed specif-ically for anhydrous, non-polar systems. It is alight color, low odor liquid. Gel clarity can bevaried from crystal clear and water white toopaque and creamy. Hardness can be variedfrom soft gels to hard sticks. This technologyis applicable to a wide range of materialsincluding Mineral oil, Mineral oil replacements,Esters, Silicones, Sunscreens, Vegetable oils, etc.
A dry emollient ester providing the slip andbarrier properties of mineral oil, without thegreasiness. In hair care, this great lubricantprovides improved wet and dry comb proper-ties. It is an excellent solubilizer for anti-per-spirants, sunscreens and fragrance oils. It isalso an excellent pigment dispersant for colorcosmetic products. This non-irritating ester isideal for sensitive skin products.
This vegetable derived ester is formed by thereaction of Behenic Acid with BehenylAlcohol. It is a superior wax substitute forcreams, lotions, anti-perspirant sticks, andhair conditioners. The melt point is 72degrees C. When added to the oil phase ofan emulsion, this ester will build viscosity atlow solids for a rich feel. It is very cost effec-tive and non-irritating to the skin.
Light natural feel and good spreadability.Excellent solvent for organic sunscreensallowing good feel with high SPF. Excellentdispersant in powders and solid phase prod-ucts such as liquid foundation, lipsticks andinorganic sunscreens. Stable to oxidation and pH and well suited for hair color, depilatories, relaxers, perms, AHA and sunscreen products.

PRODUCTHEST G-18-O
INCI NAMEGlycereth-18 Ethylhexanoate(and)Glycereth-18
FORMLiquid,Light
PROPERTIESGlobal Seven Hest G-18-O is a non-irritating lightwater and alcohol soluble emollient with unique prop-erties that delivers performance advantages in prod-uct forms of all types. Hest G-18-O is an ideal choicefor use in sensitive skin applications since it is totallynon-irritating. Hest G-18-O is an effective anti-micro-bial agent at concentrations of 1–2% or less withactivity against a wide range of microorganismsincluding gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacte-ria, yeast and mold. Finished products using Hest G-18-O have greater resistance to microbial challenge, require lower levels of preservatives to pass challengetesting while delivering moisturization and long lastinganti-microbial protection to consumers. It can reduceor eliminate the need for conventional preservativesincluding parabens and formaldehyde donors. Inleave-on products it also provides long lasting anti-microbial protection along with moisturization to con-sumers. It is an ideal choice for use in formulationsthat may be difficult to preserve such as sunscreens, sensitive skin products and preservative free prod-ucts. Hest G-18-O is an ideal solvent for water insolu-ble materials. For example, Salicylic Acid is readilysoluble in Hest G-18-O at room temperature. Thismeans that Salicylic Acid, which is less irritating thanother hydroxy acids can be used in exfoliation applica-tions without the need for skin damaging solvents likeethyl alcohol resulting in reduced irritation, improvedaesthetics, and increased performance. It also deliv-ers a warming effect 2–3 times that of glycerin whenapplied to moist skin. It has the benefits of glycerinand glyceryl ethoxylates without the negatives likeslow absorption, greasiness, tack or drag. In fact, itcan eliminate tackiness and drag of other ingredientssuch as glycerin or gums, resins and thickeners suchas carbomer. It is a slow spreading ester but it isreadily absorbed. The result in formulations is addedcushion and play- time on initial application, smoothnon-draggy rubout and a light emollient after-feel with-out tack or greasiness similar to that of silicone.Since it is soluble in alcohol and water it can also beadded to clear hydroalcoholic or hydrogel systemsdelivering a silky, soft after-feel, without tack or dragwhile maintaining product clarity. Use levels vary withapplication but are generally from 0.5-10%. Whenused as the sole emollient 5-10% or more may beappropriate, while in combination with other emollients1-5% may be appropriate. Hest G-18-O deliversunique feel and consistency, increases formulationversatility, enhances aesthetics and reduces develop-ment cycle time.

PROPERTIESA cationic self-emulsifier and conditioner. It is ideal for systems thatare difficult to emulsify such as silicones and can be used alone asthe sole emulsifier. Because it is cationic it is substantive to hairand skin. In hair care it delivers excellent conditioning and improveswet and dry combing. In skin care it delivers a soft elegant afterfeel and in rinse off products it facilitates deposition of other non-ionic conditioners and moisturizers. Use levels vary with applicationbut are generally from 1–10%. Where used as the sole emulsifierconcentrations of 5% or more may be appropriate. Where used incombination with other emulsifiers, concentrations of 1–5% or lessmay be appropriate. In conditioners use levels of 2–8% or moremay be appropriate. Conditioners can be made simply heating5–10% Gloquat BQ in water to 80° C. For silicones such ascyclomethicone or dimethicone use levels required vary with appli-cation from about 5/1 to about 10/1 silicone/Gloquat BQ.
A nonionic emulsifier for creams and lotions.
A nonionic emulsion stabilizer effective at pH extremes, high elec-trolyte levels. It is ideal for use in antiperspirants, relaxers and coldwaves.
A nonionic emulsifier that offers more viscous emulsions and moreopacity than Hetoxol D and Hetoxol J.
