Port Augusta City Council has invested and supported the City’s growth through infrastructure and revitalisation projects including the new Joy Baluch AM Bridge Duplication project, Port Augusta Airport upgrades and the Central Oval sports and function facility complex.

Port Augusta City Council is also environmentally conscious. Throughout the City, ‘AridSmart TM’ plants which are grown at the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Gardens are being used in parks, gardens and traffic corridors including the highway and Central Oval complex. These low-rainfall Australian plants use substantially less water than non-indigenous plants and are grown to thrive in the dry climate.

Through the re-use of water, Council sustainably waters its parks and gardens and has a continuous supply of water, even in times of imposed water restrictions. It has established itself as a leader in water re-use by increasing the water production of the Waste Water Treatment Plan and constructing a dam to store up to 75 mega litres of treated waste water which can be used in peak periods.

APS offers to Flame, Plasma and Laser cut sheet metal profiles with supplementary processing to customer requirements.e.g. drilling, tapping, bevelling, machining, surface grinding, rolling, bending, welding, surface treatment.

Sheets of carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium of all grades are stocked on site or ordered directly from the mill for specific projects.• APS machines include multi head oxy, plasma, CO2 and Fiber Optic lasers,

plasma/oxy/drill/tap/bevel machines, CNCs, a lathe and a surface grinder. • APS can plasma/oxy cut material up to 20 metres in length. • We can cut material up to 250mm thick on multiple machines with multiple

cutting heads.• The plant runs across two shifts and can operate across three shifts

when required. • APS has a close association with local companies that can also machine, bend,

roll, weld and surface treat parts. • APS offers project management capability on customer’s requirements
