Greater London South East County Scout Council has gone through a self review process to ensure that we are delivering and supporting what we should be for our young people and adult volunteers. As a result we now have a set of Outcomes, based on the Charities Evaluation Services model. Outcomes are the effects or changes brought about by the activities provided by an organisation. Measurements of outcomes show the degree of its effectiveness, rather than its size, efficiency or productivity.

Why Use Outcomes?

• Demonstrate improvements

• Motivate and focus volunteers

• Strategic planning

• Development of organisation

• Analyse needs

• Improve communication

• Identify strengths and weaknesses

• Supports funding applications

Greater London South East County Scout Council’s Overall Aim

• Programme Priorities

• Recruitment & Retention Strategy

• Development Strategy

• Marketing & Communication Strategy Our Outcomes and strategies complement The Scout Association’s Vision to 2012 which aspires to be a Movement which is:

• Youth Led

• Focussed

• Sound

• Relevant

• Diverse

• Growing Greater London South east County Scout Council’s Outcomes and strategies also fit into the ‘Ever Child Matters’ Outcomes framework for Children and Young People, which are:

• Be Healthy

• Enjoy & Achieve

• Make A Positive Contribution

• Achieve Economic

• Well-Being Each strategy is summarised in this document, along with the responsible people tasked with delivering each item. Whilst most of the development areas are looking for results within the next twelve months, the work will continue over the next four years.

Working towards our Outcomes will demonstrate and build upon the already fantastic opportunities for members in Scouting, reaching more young people and adult volunteers to join the fun, challenge and adventure we can offer! Ben Richardson County Commissioner
