Station BillStation Bill

Contains specific duties and duty stations for platformpersonnel in case of an emergency. It contains thespecific signals for emergency stations and for theabandonment of the facility. It shall list the use and

application of any special equipment to be provided in anemergency. The Bill is to be signed by the PIC andposted in conspicuous places on the facility. The signalto man emergency stations shall be an intermittentsignal on the general alarm system for not less than tenseconds. The abandon facility shall be a continuous

signal on the general alarm system. Applies to mannedonly.

Obstruction lights must have 360-degree

lenses, display a quick-flash characteristic ofapproximately sixty (60) flashes per minute,visible for at least five (5) miles and be

displayed at not less than twenty (20) feetabove the water. When more than one light isdisplayed, all lights must flash in unison.

Obstruction lights on Class “A” structures shall

be white. Lights are to be displayed at all timesbetween the hours of sunset and sunrise and

during periods of reduced visibility.

LIFE FLOATS are the minimum primary lifesaving

equipment required on platforms. There must be aminimum of two (2) approved life floats on boardand additional as required of sufficient capacity to

accommodate 100% of the persons on board theplatform.

INFLATABLE liferafts may be substituted for lifefloats.

SURVIVAL CRAFT (Capsules or Boats)- may also

be substituted for the required life floats.

equivalent synthetic lanyard. Waterlight must be mounted in a bracket and

life float. Paddles shall be between five(5) and six (6) feet long and stowed sothey will be accessible from either side

of the life float when in the water.

ExtinguishersExtinguishersPortable and semi-portable extinguishers are classifiedby a combination letter and number symbol. The letterindicates the type of fire the unit could be expected toextinguish and the number denoting the size. (See 33CFR 145.05 and tables .05 (C) & .10 (A).

 Type indicators are as follows:

“A” ALPHA for fires in ordinary combustiblematerials

“B” BRAVO for flammable liquid fires
