THE PERFECT DAY! by David W. Spillman
If you pictured the perfect day, what would it look like? What activities would fill up those 24 hours? Where would you spend it? This would be a tough question for me to answer because I thoroughly enjoy so many completely opposite terrains, activities, and climates! I could easily spend a perfect day on a sandy, sun-drenched beach in the Caribbean doing nothing but soaking up the sun, interrupted only by the call of the sea for swimming and exploring the pristine, clear waters. But then again, locked away in a Rocky Mountain cabin exploring trails in the high country with the strong aroma of the mountain pines, viewing wildlife, fly-fishing in the glacier-fed mountain streams, and ending the day around the fire pit for some great fellowship and food cooked on an open fire. Or, a day hoofing around the streets of New York City visiting museums, taking in Broadway shows, and just enjoying Times Square with all its lights, hustle and bustle of people, and shopping 'til you drop! What would your perfect day look like? The descendants of Korah made it known what they thought a perfect day would look like and the only place that it could happen. They wrote, "A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than to live the good life in the homes of the wicked" (Psalm 84:10 NLT). Korah's descendants found so much joy, so much peace with just being in the presence of God, that one single day in His presence is so much better, so superior than a thousand other days anywhere else! Now let their words marinade in your mind and heart...and if you have a genuine relationship with the God of creation, I believe we would have to agree with Korah's descendants that the perfect day is just being in God's presence...regardless of physical location! So today, thank God for His amazing love---and for allowing us to spend time with Him all day every day! Isn't this amazing??? And then when we get to Heaven, we will be in His pure presence for all eternity! Every day is a perfect day with God! God bless!

If each person (110 people) gave $1.80 more each week, we would have an additional $10,296 in 1 year; that is $ 5,496. more than 1 week’s budget and $ 53 more than our current shortfall! $1.80 per week for 52 weeks totals $ 93.60. God loves cheerful givers!
