God Loves You and Calls You His

Daughter!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. I welcome this new day with you. Thank you for another day with prayers to be prayed. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer as I start another 40 days of prayers by acknowledging how scripture says that she is a child of God, a daughter of God:

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. (1 John 3:1)

Lord, I’m here again to lift up your daughter Lindsey. I ask that you let her feel your presence and confirm that she is indeed A DAUGHTER OF GOD. You have bestowed your love upon her. Let her feel that love from you today. Let that truth resonate in her this day Lord. And all the glory goes to you. The glory is all yours Lord. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Jesus Has Prepared a Mansion for

You

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for Lindsey’s joy, honesty and good example. And thank you for the scripture to use as I am beginning prayers based on things that Jesus said:

[Jesus said:] Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:1-3)

Lord, I’m here to lift up Lindsey to you. I am here on behalf of your daughter you love. Lindsey, keep on believing in God. Keep on believing in Jesus, for in his Father’s house there are many mansions and he is preparing a place for you! Yes, he is setting up a place in a mansion just for you. And he will come again to take you there. I pray that he would let you know personally that this is indeed true. So, we now give all the glory to God. Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Be Just Like a Little Child If You Want

to Enter the Kingdom of Heaven

Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for another wonderful day. Thank you for the wonderful weather. Thank you for letting me sense your presence all around me. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:2-3)

Lord, I’m here as usual on behalf of your daughter you love, to pray for something that she seems to have already! Lindsey, it seems like you have embraced today’s scripture wholeheartedly. You have such a childlike joy just bursting out from within you. And today I thank the Lord that you indeed are ready to enter into the kingdom of heaven. And I pray that you would continue holding fast unto this quality. I ask that the Lord would remind you now and then that becoming like a little child is a GOOD THING! Never be ashamed of it. And all the glory goes to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Humble Yourself Lindsey – That Is

the Key to Greatness!

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for the house that I am so happy to have. Thank you for my home. Thank you for being my provider Lord. And thank you for the scripture to use for my prayer this day for Lindsey:

[Jesus said:] Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:4)

Lord, it’s me. I’m here to pray for your daughter again. Lindsey, today I pray that you would always remember the key to greatness according to Jesus. I pray that the Lord would give you ways to remember this. I pray that those around you would also help you to remember this truth. Stay humble. Stay yourself. Stay your humble self! And all the glory goes to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Welcome the Children in the Name of

Jesus

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for my family. Thank you for brothers and sister, wife and daughter, mother and father, and grandkids. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus said:] And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. (Matthew 18:5)

Lord, I’m here again ready to begin another daily prayer for your daughter you love. Lindsey, today I pray that you will have many opportunities to welcome children, to receive children and to do it in the name of Jesus for then you in turn will receive Jesus as he welcomes you! Lord, open the doors for Lindsey to do this today and in the coming week. And all the glory goes to you Lord. The glory is all yours. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Be a Secret Santa All Year Long!

Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for my many meals, the food you provide for me. Thank you for being my provider today as well as every day in the past. Thank you for assuring me that you will be my provider in the days to

come as well. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey with something that Jesus said:

[Jesus said:] Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. (Matthew 6:1-4)

Lord, here I am again. I am here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey again as usual. My prayer for you today Lindsey is interesting because you have placed yourself in the public eye and in this way quite a bit of what you do is seen by others. So I pray that today you would find ways to be charitable to others without anyone knowing it was you. I pray that opportunities will appear for you to be a secret Santa for others today. And God, who sees all you do will reward you (rather than be rewarded by man). And all the glory goes to God. Glory! I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

See Who You Can Serve Today!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for sleep. Thank you how sleeping can refresh not only our minds but also our bodies. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. (Mark 9:35)

Lord, it’s me. I’m here as usual to lift up Lindsey to you. Yes, I lift you up Lindsey. As you tour the world there are many travelling with you to serve you by setting up, tearing down, and all the many things that need to be done before, during and after each performance. And so today’s scripture is important. It reminds me of how to pray for you now. I pray that during your tours that you would always find ways to serve those who are there for you. I ask the Lord to show you opportunities to serve them. I ask that God would renew your strength and your mind so you can be able to be a good servant to those around you, just like you likely are already. And all the glory goes to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Beware of Focusing on the “stuff”,

the “possessions”

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for my mind and for the understanding that you bring to it. Thank you for bringing meaning to the words I read as I read your Word. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. (Luke 12:15)

Lord, it’s me … I am here to sit with you again as I do every day. I’m here to pray for your daughter you love. Yes, Lindsey, today I pray a prayer close to my heart as I have learned that everything I own, everything I have, everything around me is all just stuff, and I try to hold on to it all very loosely, since it is all God’s anyway. And so I pray this for you too Lindsey, since you travel so many places and see so much “stuff”. I pray that you won’t begin to “want” everything you see. I pray that stuff you already have can sometimes be handed off to someone else. I pray that some of this “stuff” can be passed on to others around you, others you meet, others you might not even know yet. I pray that you would not become consumed with the “stuff” of this world, but that you would cling to God, that you would hold fast to Jesus. I pray that you would take care in your life. I pray that you would watch out and be on guard for any touch of greed that might try to slip into your way of thinking or your way of living. And I pray that the Lord would help you with this, that he would continue to be your comfort and your guide. And all the glory goes to God. The glory is all his. I pray this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

The Lord’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for flowers! Thank you for the lupine flower that my friends talked about this morning. Thank you for how such a simple flower can be so majestic when seen in a group. Thank you for how the colors of that same flower can vary so greatly, yet the flower itself is solid in one color. Thank you for how grouped together the different colors go so well together! Perhaps this is an example of how differences can add even more to what individually was quite good! And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus said:] After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)

Lord, I’m here again. I came to sit with you this morning as usual. I’m here to lift up your daughter you love. Lindsey, today’s scripture reminds us of how Jesus prayed … prayed often and in many ways. But today’s scripture is often referred to as his model prayer. So we can pray it together now. We pray to our heavenly Father and honor his name. We ask for his will to be done right here, right now. We ask for him to continue to be our provider and to forgive us as we also remember that we too forgive others! And we ask for him to protect us from the evil in the world and give him all the glory. Yes, the glory goes to God. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

The Lord’s Supper

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for our country, our city, our community. Thank you for the many ways people can interact with each other. Thank you for the many opportunities to be kind to others throughout the day.

And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit your of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom. (Matthew 26:26-29)

Lord, I’m here to lift up Lindsey again today (as usual). Yesterday we shared the scripture for the Lord’s prayer. Today we share the scripture for the Lord’s supper. We are reminded by Jesus’s words that he was soon to suffer immensely, be scourged and pierced and give his life for us, for forgiveness of our sins. We repent for our sins Lord. We turn from them and turn to you. We look forward to the day we drink with you in your Father’s kingdom. And we give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Jesus Offers You Rest!

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for soap. Thank you for the means to clean ourselves and our clothes. Thank you for the example of how we can feel more refreshed after we are washed. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus said:] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

Lord, I’m here again. I came to sit with you. I came to rest. I need your rest. It is one thing that I ask for quite often. And I now am asking for your rest for Lindsey. She seems to be in the spotlight one way or another constantly. She has so much to plan, so much to remember, so much to actually DO! I ask that you continue to surround her with people who can help her stay refreshed… refreshed in you. I ask that you nudge her to pause now and then to just sit with you. And then I ask that you let her feel your rest come upon her. And we will give you the glory. The glory is yours. I ask this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Give from Your Abundance?

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for healing my knees instantly 15 years ago. Thank you for keeping them healed all these many years. Thank you for letting this miracle be my foundation of thankfulness, where I try to thank

you for healing my knees any time that I am going up or down stairs. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for Lindsey:

And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living. (Mark 12:42-44)

Lord, here I am again. I’m here as usual on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. Yes, Lindsey, I am here and am praying for you. And today’s scripture is a hard one. We know that God delights in blessing each of us as we follow him and his ways. We know that he wants us to prosper. But at the same time, here we see Jesus taking note of someone who was giving all that she had and Jesus was honoring her before those he was speaking to. I don’t think giving everything is what Jesus is asking of us, or of you. But I think he is asking us to pay attention and to make sure that giving is a normal part of our daily lives. And so, Lindsey, I pray that you would continue looking for ways that you can bless those around you by giving of yourself, your time and even your resources. I pray that God would open opportunities for you and that he would clearly point them out to you. I pray that God would continue to be generous to you as you are generous to those around you. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Seek First the Kingdom of God and His

Righteousness

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for thunder and lightning (and how they both are actually the same thing) for it allows us just a glimpse of how power can be unleashed in the world. Thank you for the display of lightning that goes across the sky in an instant and is gone in a blink of the eye. Thank you for the LOUD crack of thunder to remind us of the power that was behind that very brief display in the sky. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus said:] No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon*. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (Matthew 6:24-34)

Lord, I’m here again to pray for your daughter. I enjoy my time here to lift her up to you. Lindsey, today is a day to remember that all you need to do is to seek FIRST the kingdom of God. If you do that God has said not to worry, that he would take care of you. Not just take care of you, but that he would ADD all the things you need to the result of seeking first his kingdom. He also reminds you that tomorrow will have its own problems and troubles. All you must do is focus on today’s. Lord, I ask that as Lindsey does seek first your kingdom, that you would show up in her life each day to relieve some of the problems of each day. Let her feel your presence as you take care of her wherever she may be. And all the glory is yours. The glory all goes to you. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Give … and It Then Will Be Given to

You in the Same Measure!

Heavenly Father good morning. Thank you for cereal. Thank you for the many kinds. Thank you that we can eat cereal any time day or night. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for Lindsey (who also really really likes cereal):

[Jesus said:] But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. (Luke 6:35-38)

Lord, I’m here as usual to begin another day's prayer for your daughter you love. Lindsey, today I pray another scripture over you regarding giving. This time Jesus is encouraging us to be generous, for in the same measure that we are generous, that same measure will be used when he is gracious to us. So I pray that God would keep your heart soft. I pray that God would fill you so full of joy that you can only think about how to respond to him. I pray that being generous would continue to be simply a way of life for you. I pray that those around you would see this in you as you are a role model for them. And we will give all the glory to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

You Can Have an Abundant Life!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for teeth. Thank you for my good chewing teeth. Thank you for how well teeth work! And thank you for the scripture for your daughter Lindsey for today’s prayer:

[Jesus said:] I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:9-10)

Lord, I’m here. It’s me. I am ready to lift up your daughter you love. Lindsey, today I pray that the Lord would give you an abundant life, just as he promised. All you need to do is open the door to Jesus and enter in. You can come and go in peace. I pray that each day you would look for that door that is Jesus and that each day Jesus would in turn give you a more abundant life. And we will give all the glory to him. The glory all goes to him. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Don’t Just Love Those Who Love

You… Love Those Who Do Not Love

You!

Heavenly Father good morning. Thank you for a new day. Thank you for a new day with you. Thank you for the new day from you as you hold all things together. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus said:] For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:46-48)

Lord, I am here again. Here to sit with you on behalf of your daughter you love. Lindsey, today the scripture for the prayer is all about love. However, it focuses not on reminding you to love others, but on who it is that you are choosing to love. And that is hard. And so Lord, I ask that you be the strength for Lindsey today. I ask that you be her guide. Help her to be loving even to those who appear to be against her. For what reward is there in loving only the people who are so fondly loving you? Perhaps this is another big prayer today, since it appears that there are literally thousands who are loudly and publicly proclaiming how much they love you Lindsey (and likewise there are the detractors as well). And so my big prayer is that the Lord would enlarge your heart and keep it filled with his joy so that you could love not only those who say they love you, but also those who don’t. I pray that the Lord would guard your heart and keep it from breaking and at the same time add more love to it right then. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this big prayer in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Worship and Serve Only God

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for the bright sunshine this morning. Thank you for the crisp cool morning that includes a bit of warmth from the sun already! And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Luke 4:6-8)

Lord, I’m here to lift up your daughter Lindsey. You have greatly gifted her with skill and talent in music and performing. She is using those skills and talents wisely Lord and you have shown her favor wherever she goes. Thank you for this Lord. We both thank you for this! The initial scripture for this prayer refers to our need to worship only the Lord, and so we do. We worship you Lord. However, your daughter seems to be in a peculiar situation. Her performances are so good that many people appear to be worshiping her! This is not how you want it, Lord, as seen by this scripture that came to mind just now:

And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. (Acts 10:25-26)

So, Lindsey, perhaps my prayer is in two parts this day. For next I pray that the Lord would help you see when others are misplacing their worship by worshiping you, who are only a woman, merely a human being like them. I pray that the Lord would help you to find ways to pull them up and redirect them to worshiping the one true God rather than a great violinist. I pray that you will find ways to point to Jesus when they look upon you in awe and worship. I don’t know how you can do this. But I trust that God knows, and that God will share this with you. I pray that he would let you know clearly and that you would hear him clearly and see what you can do. And I pray that you would then have the courage to actually do what he is asking of you. And we both will give all the glory and worship to God and only to God. All the glory is his. I pray this all in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

As Prophesied, Jesus Came to Heal

the Brokenhearted

Good morning Heavenly Father. I welcome the new day with you. Looking out the window I see evidence of majesty, of your creation. Flowers. Many kinds of flowers. Many, many flowers of each kind. Trees. Many different trees. Bushes. Grass. Clouds. Tree leaves swaying in the breeze. All this you created just for us! Thank you! And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. (Luke 4:16-21)

Lord, I’m glad to be here again (as usual) to sit with you. I am happy to come on behalf of Lindsey each day. Today’s scripture is quite interesting. Jesus read out of the Old Testament and proclaimed that it was a prophecy, and that he was fulfilling it! And it is quite a prophecy! Look at what he says he will do:

Preach the Gospel, the Good News to the poor Heal the brokenhearted Proclaim deliverance and freedom to the captives Recovery of sight for the blind Freedom and liberty for the bruised and oppressed Announce, proclaim and preach the acceptable year of the Lord, the time of God’s favor

Lindsey, I know that you are following Jesus. You are clinging to him every day no matter where you are. Perhaps he would like to work through you. Perhaps you can be a way for the brokenhearted to be healed. Perhaps the oppressed can see hope. Perhaps you can show how God’s favor can be had right now, this day, this very hour. Just perhaps. And it is that “perhaps” that I pray over you. I pray that God would show you if any of these “perhaps” are for you and for your journey. I pray that God would continue to fill you with his joy which can be your strength. I pray that he would continue to give you the courage to actually DO what he is asking of you. And finally I pray that he would give you the words. I pray that he would give you the words that others need to hear. And we will give all the glory to him. The glory all goes to God. I pray this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

It Is Finished… When?

Good Morning Heavenly Father! Thank you for my breath. Thank you for lungs that work so wonderfully. Thank you for the air that fills my lungs. Thank you for my breath, my life, my life with you. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. (John 19:30)

Lord, I’m here again to pray for Lindsey, your daughter who loves you. I am here as always, every day. And today I am praying for you Lindsey. I am praying that God would show you when you can say “It is finished”. Not everyone was healed, yet Jesus the healer said it was finished. Lindsey, I pray that you too would recognize when to declare something finished. I pray that you would recognize what was set before you and what is being left for others. I pray that God would grant you the wisdom and discernment to separate all that is before you each day and to know which is for you and what is not. I pray that God would give you peace as you do all that he has set before you and that you would not want to do more than what he asked. And all the glory goes to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Stay Humble – Let God Exalt You!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the children. Thank you for their example of how to not complicate things, that simple is ok. Being childlike is not a problem, but a solution. Thank you for the joy in the eyes of

the children involved in such simple things. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus said:] For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. (Luke 14:11)

Lord, it’s me. I’m here again as usual on behalf of your daughter. I’m here to pray for her. Lindsey, I pray that you can remain humble, and let Jesus exalt you in his way. God’s favor has given you great fame. I pray that you will not let it go to your head. I pray that you keep your feet planted firmly on the ground (except when you are leaping and dancing). I pray that God would extend his favor and help you to remain humble, day after day after day. And the glory is all his. All the glory goes to God. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Continue Reading the Word Every Day

to Be a True Disciple of Jesus

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for music. It is so interesting how music can be soothing, can be invigorating, can be inspiring. It is interesting that our ears can pick up all the fine details of music, how loud, how fast, what pitch, harmony, melody and so much more. Thank you for music Lord. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter:

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:31-32)

Lord, I am here. I am here to lift up your daughter Lindsey. Yes, Lindsey, today I pray that you will continue what you stated as your New Year’s resolution … that you would find time each day to read the Word, to read the Bible. If there is no time, I pray that you will be willing to make the time. I pray that this would remain a priority for you today and the rest of the year. I pray that God would meet with you each time you open the Bible and that he would reveal the truth to you making you free. And all the glory we give to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

God’s Kingdom Is in Our Midst

Within Us Now, Though Not With

Something Observable

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for giving us your Word. Thank you for all the people who preserved it and those that diligently translated it into our language so that we could read it ourselves. Thank you for bringing us understanding as we read it so that it is not just a lot of words. And thank you for the scripture to use for the prayer today where Jesus tells us about the kingdom of God:

And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:20-21)

Lord, it’s me again. I am here to pray for your daughter Lindsey. And today I pray that your kingdom would be right there within her in such a way that she can feel it. Let her know that God’s kingdom is right there within her. Lindsey, I pray that you will not need to ask for a sign because the kingdom has come in a way that is not observable, yet it is real. Lord, make your kingdom real for Lindsey today. And we will give you the glory. The glory is all yours Lord. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

During Your Daily Reading of the

Bible Jesus Is There in Your Midst!

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for my good health. Thank you for showing me how to maintain a thankful heart. And thank you for the scripture to use for my prayer this day for Lindsey, your daughter:

[Jesus said:] For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:20)

Lord, I’m here again to lift up Lindsey to you. She has committed to reading your word with others every day this year. I ask that each time she gets together with someone to read your word, that you would make your presence known to them. Let them be aware of you right there with them. Let them know that you are there among them. Let them sense that you are there in their midst. And all the glory goes to you Lord. The glory is all yours. Pray That You Will Not Fall Into

Temptation!

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for allowing me to be calm in the midst of a storm. Thank you for often calming the storm as well. And thank you for the scripture that has Jesus telling us that it is OK for us to pray for ourselves!

And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. (Luke 22:40)

Lord, I’m here to pray for your daughter Lindsey again. Today, Lindsey, Jesus is telling you that it is OK for you to pray for yourself! Yes, I will pray for you as well, but here is something you can pray for every day. Pray that you will not fall into temptation. I join you in this prayer. Lord, I ask that you protect Lindsey from all the temptation that is around her, especially as she is on tour. No One Can Rob You of Your Joy! Ask!

Be an “asker” in the Name of Jesus!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the new day. Thank you for peace of mind as I start this new day. Thank you for reminding me that I just need to keep my focus on Jesus and not be distracted by what I see to the left and to the right of me. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus said:] A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: (John 16:21-26)

Lord, here I am! I am ready to start today’s prayer for your daughter you love! Lindsey, today I pray that your heart is rejoicing. I pray that you recognize and realize that no one can rob you of this joy. And right now I pray that you realize that Jesus is telling you to ASK … to ASK … and to ASK IN HIS NAME! And so I pray that you can be an asker this day (yeah, I just made up that word). I pray that you can be someone who asks … who is not afraid to ask in the name of Christ Jesus. Know Jesus and Do the Will of the

Father… Only Then Ask in His Name!

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for steam. Thank you for mist. Thank you for wispy clouds. Thank you for showing us how at times there can be something covering our field of vision just a bit and perhaps we might not even notice it. A slight mist or slight fog can alter how the world looks, make it a bit more ominous. Help us to not let the powers of darkness cloud our vision of your world, of your creation, of you … as the scripture for today’s prayer abruptly warns us:

[Jesus said:] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21-23)

Good Morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for a day surrounded by the beauty of your creation. And thank you for not just one, but two scriptures to use for my prayer for your daughter Lindsey this day:

Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am. (Luke 22:70)

And also…

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 16:15-17)

And today I pray that this truth will resonate in you, because you are not afraid to publicly tell the world that you are a daughter of God and that you are drawing closer to Jesus. And so I pray that Jesus will meet with you as you draw closer. I pray that as you draw closer to him that he will draw closer to you. I pray that he will reveal things to you. Go Out Into the World… Go Out

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for the children. Thank you for holding the children up as an example for us. Thank you for letting us know that it is not only OK to be like a child … but it is preferable! And thank you for your word today to speak over your daughter you love… this is the word for your Lindsey:

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here to begin another prayer for your daughter. Lindsey, today the scripture given to me to pass along to you in this prayer is a powerful one. Jesus is telling you to GO. Yes, I know that you are GOing almost all the time. Jesus is telling you to go to THE NATIONS! Yes, I know that you just got back from going out to the nations around the world. But Jesus is saying a bit more that just GO … a bit more than just go to THE NATIONS. Yes, he wants you to take your violins out with you. He wants you to utilize the gifts, skills and talents that he has given you. But he says it is more than just that. While you are going, while you are in the nations, while you are out there in the world he wants you ALSO to be teaching. Yes, you can be teaching wherever you go because Jesus said you can. He sent you. Teach all the things he has commanded (which means that you are wise to be reading the Bible every day so that you know what God is saying to everyone). So I pray for you as you go. I pray for you as you go to the nations. And I pray for you as you teach there. I pray that you can teach by what you do as well as by what you say. I pray that God will give you the words as well as the opportunities. And we can both glorify God. The glory is all his. GLORY! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. With Jesus in Paradise

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for breakfast to start my day. Thank you for the tiny group of friends that gather with me weekday mornings to read your word around a table in a restaurant or coffee shop. And thank you for the scripture to use for today’s prayer for Lindsey, your daughter:

And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:39-43)

Lord, I’m here again and ready to start a prayer for today for your daughter you love. Lindsey, today’s scripture reminds you that there is indeed a paradise because Jesus himself says so. He confirmed that the criminal who repented would be there in paradise after he died. So today I pray that you would hear Jesus confirming to you that he has a place for you in paradise as well. I pray that with that to look forward to, that you may be filled with such joy that it continues to overflow from you and is contagious to all around you. May God’s joy fill you. And may that joy in you that others see be a sign to them of the good news available to all. And we will give the glory to God. All the glory is his. the scripture as the base for today’s prayer for Lindsey:

Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for vision. Vision in dim light. Vision in bright light. Peripheral vision. Depth perception. Vision itself is a wonder. Thank you. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for Lindsey, your daughter you love.

And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. When Kicked, What Comes Out?

Good? Evil?

Heavenly Father, good morning. Thank you for the rain that is essential for growth. And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer that reminds me of something I learned a decade ago:

[Jesus said:] For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. (Luke 6:45)

Lord, I am here to sit with you, as usual. I am here to begin another day’s prayer for Lindsey, your daughter you love. Lindsey, today I pray for your heart. I pray that your heart would be filled with good. I pray that whenever you find your heart filled with ill intent, anger, frustration, evil … that God would help you to notice it and give you suggestions on what you can do to remove the bad and refill with good. Perhaps today’s scripture helps point out that we need to monitor our own hearts. A good indicator is what happens when we are kicked. When you get kicked, slighted, put down, insulted … what comes out of your mouth? Yes, your mouth, for out of the abundance of your heart your mouth speaks! If honey comes out, praise God that your heart is doing well. However, if you snap, yell, mumble, insult back … then take note that your built in indicator just lit up it’s red warning light. Your heart has been infiltrated with evil. Your heart has become a bit corrupted. I pray that when your warning indicator lights up that God would help you to notice it immediately and that he would show you what you need to do to refresh your heart, to refill it with good to overflowing and to expel everything that has polluted your heart! This is not easy, so I pray that God would be there at your side and that he would help you. I pray that he would pull you out of any pit you may have fallen into. I pray that he would dust you off, fill you with his joy and send you back smiling. And we can give the glory to God. All the glory is his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Where Are Your Treasures? That’s

Where Your Heart Will Be!

Heavenly Father, good morning! Thank you for revitalized friendships. Thank you for coffee shops that allow conversations off to the side yet not in private. Thank you for your Word that you gave to us and thank you to all those who kept it intact and translated it into our own language! And thank you for the scripture for today’s prayer for your daughter Lindsey:

[Jesus said:] Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Matthew 6:19-21)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here as I am every day, on behalf of your daughter you love. Lindsey, I pray a big prayer for you today. I pray that God would help you to see where your treasures really are. Are they a collection of beautiful violins? Are they a throng of people screaming with enjoyment during one of your performances? Is your treasure racking up a billion views on YouTube? All these seem to be a result of God’s favor on your life. Yet, Jesus today seems to be reminding you to take care! Be careful about what exactly you treat as your ultimate treasure! I pray that God would give you many opportunities in the coming week for you to DO THINGS that matter for God’s kingdom. I pray that God would open doors for you in this regard. I pray that you would recognize these opportunities and that you would have the courage to walk through the doors, that you can bravely walk on the path God shows you! Look into your heart today Lindsey. Doublecheck it. It is following after what you treasure most. I pray that today you would be accumulating treasures in heaven. I pray that you will set out to store up more heavenly treasures this day. I pray that the desires of your heart would be heavenly today, and that it would be evident to all those around you. And all the glory goes to God. The glory is all his. I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Ask, Seek, Knock! A Good Habit!

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the wind. I can’t see where it is coming from nor where it is going. I can’t even see it, yet I know it is there because I can feel it. I might not be able to see you Heavenly Father, but I can

feel you all around me, so I know that you are there. Thank you also for the scripture for today’s prayer, which is one of the few places where scripture points out what we should be striving to make a habit in our lives… make it a habit to ask… make it a habit to seek… make it a habit to knock:

[Jesus said:] Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)

Lord, I’m here again. I’m here to sit with you. I’m here on behalf of your daughter Lindsey. Today, I pray over your habits Lindsey. You may have a habit of practicing on your violin (or even in the air while sitting in a car). Jesus seems to be suggesting that you add another habit to your life (or is this already firmly in place for you?) To become a habit, we must actually do something repeatedly for a while. And so, today I pray that you would keep in tune to the Lord as you walk with him each day. Ask for what you need. Seek the opportunities. Knock at doors so they may open to you. And then do it all over again the next day (or even the next hour). Be persistent. And Lord, I pray that you would open the appropriate doors when Lindsey knocks. I pray that you would reveal to her all that she seeks after. And I pray that her asking would not be in vain, but that you give to her when you hear her asking. The glory is all yours Lord. Glory! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

In Greek: Matthew 7:7 – Αιτειτε και δοθησεται υμιν, ζητειτε και ευρησετε, κρουετε και ανοιγσεται υμιν∙

Looking at each of the verbs here we see that αιειτε, ζητειτε, and κρουετε are each in the present active imperative with the present being in a customary sense as in “make it a habit” to ask, seek, knock – in other words: ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking, knock and keep on knocking.

Good Morning Heavenly Father! Thank you for being with my family today. Thank you for keeping everything calm all day. Thank you for helping me in knowing what to do now and what to do tomorrow. And thank you for the scripture to use for the prayer for your daughter you love:

[Jesus said:] Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. (Matthew 7:12)

Lord, it’s me. I am here as usual. I’m ready to begin another prayer for another day for Lindsey, your daughter. Lindsey, today our scripture is sometimes referred to as the Golden Rule. It seems that you follow it already, but today I am praying that it become a habit. Lord, Lindsey is following you. She listens for your voice. She reads your Word daily. I ask that you give her an added touch of your joy each time she treats others as she hopes they will treat her. Let her smile each time she is doing something for someone else. Let others see how gracious she is towards others. And I pray that she would continue to be a role model to the many who are watching her attentively. I pray that they would see how Jesus is at the root of her life in public as well in her private life. And Lord, I pray that you would help her to have more private time, more time out of the eye of the public. I pray that you would help her to find rest, to find rest in you Lord. And we will give the glory to you. All the glory is yours Lord. Glory! I pray this in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen

Good morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for another day with you. Thank you for my life and for my breath. Thank you for being near to me. And thank

you for the scripture to use for the last day of prayers based on things Jesus said!

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. (Mark 10:27)

Yep… it’s me again Lord. I’m here as usual to sit with you and to lift up your daughter Lindsey to you. I ask that you be with her today. I ask that you remind her that all things are possible for you, so she need not worry. I ask that you let her know it is you reminding her of this truth. Even more … I ask that you do something for her this week that only you can do… I ask that you do something that Lindsey can see with her own eyes that she KNOWS could only have been done by her God! And we will give you the glory. All the glory is yours Lord. I ask this all in the name and authority of Christ Jesus, King of kings. Amen
