Pentecost Sunday

FIRST COMMUNION PARENTS ONLY FAITH ENRICHMENT:

Thurs. May 24th from 7-8pm. Facilitator: Tony Chezzi

A total of $312.00 was donated to “ROSES FOR LIFE” to support local efforts of the RIGHT TO LIFE group in Sudbury. Thank you for your generosity!

NEW PARISH SECRETARY:

At this time there are 8 people applying. Interviews this week to determine best fit! Announcement will be next Sunday!

Thank you! This past week 10 youth, under the guidance of Brenda Cavallin, preparing for Confirmation, came to the church to prepare part of the grounds for the celebration. Spirit filled youth generously made a difference in the appearance of our property and so learned ownership of our place of worship and community! Well done everyone!

A GREAT BIG THANKS to all those who help out at the Window/Widower/Loss of Child Support Group! We have had between 40-50 people coming to each dinner making it a huge success. To the volunteer’s Loretta DiGioseffo, Madonna Gareau, Christine Garrioch, Ghislaine Regaudie, JoAnne MacIsaac, Gus DiGioseffo, Dan Gareau, Maggie Remeikis, Celia Wiley, Zenaida Odense and Vilija Tassone. Our next support group will be sometime in September. A special THANK YOU to all those who come out! Your attendance helps others get through the loneliness of losing someone so important! A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to those who volunteer the Divorce Care Support Group. These 13 week sessions are organized by volunteers who give their time to come out and support those experiencing the pain of separation or divorce. A BIG THANK YOU to Adrianna, Anne, Brian, Dorella, Joan and Roz. This is another valuable ministry that St. Patrick’s Church offers.

“Volunteer’s are not paid because they are worthless, but because they are priceless!”

MESSAGE FROM THE LEVAC’S: We want to thank all the parishioners who have been praying for us! We

feel the Holy Spirit continuously at work through all the helpful people we have met along this journey. ON May 7th Raymond Levac who has Parkinson’s Disease had deep brain surgery that lasted most of the day.

He was discharged from the hospital on May 9th. The surgery went well and each day he is a little better. On, May 23rd the simulator that was inserted in his chest will be turned on. Two electrodes were inserted in his brain and the battery charged simulator will send electrical current to the brain (like a pacemaker). If it is a success his meds will be reduced in half, he will walk better, have better balance, have less tremor, less dyskinesia (erratic movements) and less akathesia (whole body restlessness).

We hope to be back in Sudbury soon. Raymond and Myrna Levac

“GOOD BYE”? NOT TILL SEPT. 1ST/2ND, 2018

Many are wondering and asking about my retirement future: 1. I will be staying in Sudbury.

2. I will be living at “Christ the King Centre” for seniors at 12 Elgin Street.

3. I will have a small but suitable apartment and parking at a reasonable cost (all inclusive).

4. I will be available to help local priests as requested for their vacation etc. I will inform them of my

availability after Sept. 2nd, through my new business card: “HAVE MASS KIT _-WILL TRAVEL.”!!!

5. I will be working on occasion at Lougheed Funeral Home doing services (NOT MASS)!! For “CATHOLICS” who don’t want a Mass at their proper parish.

6. In these ways I will be able to supplement my meagre income and also keep busy.

7. As the Bishop’s notice indicated I will also continue to serve the Diocese as the Director of the

Diocesan Office of Christian Unity, Religious Relations with the Jews, and Inter Faith Dialogue. I have been doing this ministry for 15 years and there is no one else able to take this on. So, the Bishop asked me to continue.

8. Of course, all the above is contingent on my health or other circumstances that life brings us.

9. So, “GOOD BYES” now for the rest of MAY, JUNE, JULY and AUGUST!

FAREWELL RECEPTION

My desire is that there NOT be any testimonial, farewell banquets. Such events exclude many people and are expensive. I want a farewell reception to take place in the parish hall after each Mass on Sept. 1st and 2nd. I welcome a TEAM to please come forward and organize the low key event so that all parishioners can take part. Please offer yourself by contacting VILIJA TASSSONE at the parish office. IF FR. TERRY is present I would like Sept. 1st and 2nd to ALSO be a welcome reception for him. So; it will be a “GOOD BYE” and “WELCOME” event. Thank you all for your loving support and co-operation over the next 3 months.
