Evans Scholars Foundation

Each year, more than 800 deserving caddies across the country attend college on a four-year, full tuition and housing scholarship from the Evans Scholars Foundation. Evans Scholars are selected on the basis of their strong caddie record, excellent grades, outstanding character and demonstrated financial need. The program was founded by Chicago amateur golfer Charles “Chick” Evans, Jr., and is administered by the WGA.

The Midwest Cup

TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONSA tribute to Amateur Golf

The Midwest Cup began in 2006 as the Illinios-Wisconsin Cup. It has now grown to become the Midwest Mid Amateur Championship featuring team and individual competition for the right to be called “Midwest Amateur Champion.” Since It’s inception, this annual tournament has raised more than $40,000 for golf-related charities.

FRIDAY - SUNDAYEighty amateur golfers compete for top honors in this Ryder Cup–style tournament to benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation. The event is made up of two concurrent competitions.

The 54-hole team competition puts players into groups of 8 where they earn points based on their score against the other 7 teams within their group. Beginning in 2016, the event is now a World Amateur Golf Ranking Points Event. The 54-hole individual competition gives players an opportunity to qualify for national Player of the Year points. The champion also receives exemptions into other major regional amateur golf tournaments.
