GOLD VIOLIN QUALITY GUIDELINES

I. INTRODUCTION Welcome to the Gold Violin Quality Guideline manual. The following guidelines are intended to familiarize you with our quality requirements. II. VENDOR REQUIREMENTS

1. Vendors are requested, on the purchase order, to send Top of Production Samples to Product Quality Management at Gold Violin Corporate Offices in Oregon before shipping any order to the Distribution Center.

2. These Top of Production Samples are not to be confused with Photo Samples sent earlier

to Gold Violin Merchants.

3. Top of Production Samples must be received by Product Quality Management (PQM) by the date requested on the Purchase Order. If this deadline is not met, a $300 chargeback is applicable.

4. To be approved for shipment, Top of Production Samples must meet standards which

include, but are not limited to, the following General Guidelines and Specific Guidelines for each product category.

5. Vendors are responsible for physical testing that meets Gold Violin requirements. The

majority of performance criteria for Hardgoods products is based on actual use in typical consumer conditions. This is supplemented whenever possible by standard industry test methods. Test standards used for Hardgoods include those written by ISO, FTC, FCC, ANSI, AATCC, ASTM, and SATRA.

INTRODUCTION Gold Violin Quality Guidelines are presented in two sections. The first section contains general characteristics that can be applied to all/most Hardgoods products. The second section contains guidelines that are specific to individual categories of products. Vendors are expected to be familiar with and produce products for Gold Violin based on the Guidelines found in both the general and the specific sections. It is possible that a particular undesirable criteria in the Guidelines could be desirable on certain products for design and/or aesthetic reasons. To avoid confusion, variations will be clearly indicated on the product spec sheet produced by Vendor or Merchandiser or be authorized in writing by the Merchandiser and/or Product Quality Technician.
