Golda Meir (1898 –1978)
Born in Kiev, Russian Empire the 3rd of May in 1898
Emigrated to the USA in 1906 and than to Israeli in 1921.
Her mother wanted her to leave school and marry, but she rebelled, and went to live with her married sister, Sheyna in Colorado.
She had a husband Morris Myerson and one son and a daughter
She became a teacher in
1917 She attends the first
convention of the American Jews Congress in Philadelphia. She consider this event had the beginning of her political career.
She died in Jerusalem the 8th December in 1978 becuase of Leukemia

Golda Meir’s Action once in power
1948 Her ultimately unsuccessful secret meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah on the eve of the Arab invasion of Israel in 1948, in an attempt to reach agreement and avoid war.
1948 Golda was one of thirty eight people, and only one of two women, to sign Israel’s Declaration of Independence.
1948 Golda journeyed to America to collect money for military equipment and raised over $50 million.
Golda Meir embrazed excelent relationships with the US, in particular with presidnet Nixon and with the Jewish american comunity, encouraging the immigration of Jewish to Israel.
An inspiration for all Israeli Women .
She didn’t have any feminist goals.
She didn’t focus on child care policy or women problems.
The only action she have ever know to
take was when Israeli was
experiencing an epidemic violent rapes on women.
Although all Israeli women saw her as an
inspiring national icon, identifying her has the Iron Lady.

She gave them faith. If she could do it, all Israeli
women could do it too
The will to be recognized
equality between the two genders.
The desire to collaborate too
and fight for the freedom for
their country
