ECONOMIC ACHIEVEMENTS
The discovery of the Chinese paper making process was a more efficient way of writing. The
process was much easier and faster than preparing papyrus. Shops then began to sell paper and books, improving the economy.
INTELLECTUAL ACHIEVEMENTS
The House of Wisdom was built in Baghdad. This attracted many scholars from different
continents. The scholars were to translate immense amounts of literature and knowledge
into Arabic. They translated works from Aristotle, Euclid, and other important thinkers of ancient
Persia, Greece, and Rome.
POLITICAL ACHIEVEMENTS
Islamic armies did not seek to destroy conquered people and territory, but rather to continue to
grow their empire. They focused on scholars and expanding the collection of knowledge in Arabic,
as well as widening their trade markets.
SOCIAL ACHIEVEMENTSAbassid armies continued to spread across the borders and more people came under
Islamic control. Arabic was the official language of the empire, as the empire expanded and more people learned Arabic it was easier to communicate information with the
different cultures that blended into the empire.
