The breeding of rare animals has become an investment with potentially high returns.
Giraffae Game Breeders has compiled a programme that offers the opportunity to access the lucrative game
breeding market without the high costs of:
• The initial purchase of the game farm
• Fencing off game breeding camps
• Maintaining trained permanent staff
• Monthly running cost of the game farm
• The costs of purchasing a quality golden breeding bull

PROPOSED STRUCTURE
A game breeding camp on a prime game farm of your choice is leased and the game remains
100% your own property, by sharing in the offspring. Breeding bull’s are rented, saving you the
cost of having to purchasing a bull with good quality genes.
The game is professionally managed on your behalf:
• According to high industry standards and best practice
• By an experienced farm manager and staff
• An in-house contracted veterinary is on duty for all the Giraffae Game Breeding properties
• Supplementary and nutritional feeding
• Disease and parasite control
• Regular manure laboratory testing

BREEDING CAMPS & FACILITIES
• The layout of the camps were designed to make the control of the animals
stress-free and seamless. Animals need to be handled for pregnancy tests,
medication etc. This design also makes it easy for loading animals which are
sold or bought and with the rotation of the Golden Bulls.
• Camp fees / camp hire is FREE as the offspring is shared.
• Size of camps are determined by the number of Wildebeest.
• Photos will be uploaded weekly from the Trail Camera. Investors are welcome to
install their own.
• Camps are fenced-in with game fencing of 1,8 to 2,4m with additional Jakkals
wire (diamond mesh) of 1.2m high and a electrical trip wire.

HUSBANDRY FEE R295,26 per monthHusbandry fee include full feeding which includes special designed grazer mix, high in protein as well as Lusern when animals need to be moved.
Husbandry for offspring – only 50% of the cost for the first year pro-rata.
Cost of feeding are linked to the maize price.
VETERINARIAN FEE R108,30 per monthVeterinary services includes parasite control (monthly egg counts), medicine and annual pregnancy test.

VISITING YOUR GAME
As a value added service, you have access to upmarket accommodation on our
Giraffae Camps located in Jeffrey’s Bay, Eastern Cape and Groot Marico, North West.

Animals can be viewed daily during weekdays.
We also offer our investors hunting opportunities on our other neighbouring farms.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
FEES APPLICABLE WHEN SELLING YOUR STOCK:
• 3% boma fee
• 2% stud fee is payable
• 5% Commission when Giraffae Game Breeders sells animals
The investor retains the right of first refusal if any party would like to sell. The investors has the prerogative of deciding when to sell an animal.

Additional insurance available:
a. Replacement Insurance – R900,00 per annum per animal. This insurance will REPLACE your
animal. Subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Insurer.

BLUE WILDEBEEST (GNU)Main Characteristics
Blue Wildebeest are large antelope that have a body length between 1.5 and 2.4 m
(5 - 7.75 ft), a shoulder height between 1.28 and 1.4 m (4.2 - 4.6 ft), a tail length
between 35 and 56 cms (14 - 22 inches) and they weight between 120 and 275 kgs
(260 - 610 lbs).
They have a heavy-fronted appearance with a large, rectangular-shaped head. They
have a mane, beard and a long, dark coloured tail. Their coat is short and slate grey
in colour with dark vertical stripes down each side.
Both males and females horns, with those of males being larger. Each horn curves
downwards then up and they can reach up to 80 cms (32 inches) in length. Their
horns lack any ridges and in males they are joined at the base by a boss-like
structure.
They communicate with each other via grunting calls, they can reach speeds up to 80
km/hr (50 mph) and they are among the top ten fastest land animals in the world.
