Government Schemes❖ Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna :● Launched : 28 Aug, 2014● Nodal Ministry : Ministry of Finance● Objective : Financial Inclusion to make financial services
accessible and affordable to poors● It is recorded in Guinness book of world records as 1.5 crore
accounts were opened on inauguration day.● Till now over 31 crores accounts have been opened and in this
budget accounts to be increased up to 60 crore.

❖ Atal Pension Yojna :● Launched : 9 May, 2015● Exit age : 60 Years● Age group : 18-40 years● Administered by : Pension Fund Regulatory and Development
Authority (PFRDA).● The main target of this scheme to provide pension for the
people of unorganised sector.● There is a provision of pension at 60 year of age- Rs 1000 per
month to Rs 5000 per month.● Recently PFRDA has requested govt. to increase Rs. 5000 to
Rs. 10,000 per month and age to be 18-50 years.

❖ Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana (PMUY):● Launch Year: 2016● Aim: To provide gas connection to 5 crore BPL families which
has been increased to 8 crore in budget 2018-19.● Nodal Ministry : Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas● For connection of gas each household are provided a support of
Rs. 1600.● Initial corpus was Rs. 8000 crore and it is now increased by
4800 crore to have a corpus of 12800 crore.● Connections are given in the name of female member of BPL

❖ Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana (SAUBHAGYA):
● Nodal Ministry : Ministry of Power● It is an initiative to provide energy access to all by electrifying
all unelectrified household of the country.● In Budget 2018-19, there is announcement to connect 4 crore
poor household with electricity supply. The total cost will be of Rs. 16,000 crore.
● Drawing service cable from nearest pole, installation of electric metre, wiring for single light point and mobile charging point are the main points of electricity connection.

❖ Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY):● Nodal Ministry : Ministry of Rural Development● Launch Year : 2000● Aim : To connect 1,78,000 habitats with a population of more
than 500 in plain area and more than 250 in hilly areas by all weather road.
● About 82% habitats are connected till Dec 2017 and rest to be completed by March 2019.
● In budget 2018-19, 19000 crore rupees are allocated for roads under PMGSY.
● It is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (Core) in which 60% share of Centre and 40% of States.

❖ Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY):● Launch Year: 2015 ● Mission: Housing for All for 2022● It has mainly two components : PMAY (Urban) and
PMAY(Gramin).● The scheme is also converged with other schemes such as
Saubhagya Yojana, Ujjawala Yojana, Jan-Dhan Yojana, toilet construction and drinking water facility.
● For PMAY (U) nodal ministry is Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and for PMAY (G) nodal ministry is Ministry of Rural Development.

❖ Pradhan Mantri Vyay Vandana Yojana (PMVVY):● Nodal Agency : LIC (Life Insurance Corporation)● It is a pension scheme exclusively for the senior citizens (age more than
60 years).● PMVVY aims to provide social security for senior citizens by providing
pension range of 1000 per month to 5000 per month.● The scheme was opened for the period of one year from 4th May 2017 to
3rd May 2018.● Minimum purchase price is Rs. 1.5 lakh and maximum purchase price is
Rs. 7.5 lakh for 1000 per month and 5000 per month pension per month.● The scheme provides assured return of 8% for 10 years and in budget
(2018-19) proposal to extend it till March 2020 and sum to be up to 15 lakh has been announced.

❖ Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY):● Launch Year : 2015● Aim : To boost MSME sector● To implement the scheme there was set up of Micro Unit
Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA) Bank as a Non Banking Finance Company (NBFC) as a subsidiary of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
● The bank has classified its clients into three category:-a) Shishu (loan up to 50,000) b) Kishor (loan in between 50,000 to 5 lakh) c) Tarun (Loan between 5 lakh and 10 lakh)
● The scheme targets small entrepreneurs outside the service area of regular banks.

❖ Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY):● Launch Year : 2016● Administered by : Ministry of Agriculture● The Scheme has provision of uniform premium of 2% for
Kharif crops , 1.5% for rabi crops and 5% for commercial crops.● All funds for crop insurance are kept under Krishi Kalyan Kosh.● It is the only flagship crop insurance in India after merging
National Agriculture Insurance Scheme (NAIS), Modified National Agriculture Insurance Scheme (MNAIS) and Weather based Crop Insurance Scheme.
● The scheme is mandatory for all the farmers who have taken institutional loans from banks.

● Use of Technology such as remote sensing, smart phones and drones are mandatory in this scheme.
● In this crop insurance many risks are covered such as yield losses by natural fire and lighting, storm, cyclone, typhoon, tempest, hurricane, tornado, flood, inundation and landslide etc.
● It is also covered for post-harvest losses up to a maximum period of 14 days from day of harvesting.
● Localised risks are also covered.
